“Our issue was NOT addressed and we did not feel that Dr. Spruill was the least bit compassionate towards the chronic pain my husband is experiencing. We left with a medication that had contraindications for his other current health issues (discovered after reading the patient literature that came with it) -- and that was AFTER haggling with two separate nurses when they returned to check us out with NOTHING to provide any relief for my husband. The doctor said he WOULD prescribe something for pain while we waited for the tests. However, the medication he intended cannot be taken with another medication my husband is currently on. If the doctor had stayed in the room long enough to actually discuss my husband's medical history or sufficiently review his current medications, that may have been avoided. The fact is, as I was asking questions, he stood with most of his body outside the door and spoke to us with his head leaning past the door into the room. He ordered some additional tests and when the results came in they called and told us basically what we had told THEM in-office on that visit. And they wanted to refer him to a surgeon. We also told them at that visit that he had ALREADY seen a surgeon and we had been referred to have pain management UNTIL the surgery could be performed (there are some complications that must be dealt with prior). I told them that I wanted to be referred to another doctor because I didn't feel like Dr. Spruill paid any attention to my husband's concerns or history. I felt like we were just put into their "test-running" conveyor belt and I'll be happy if I never have to cross the threshold of that place again! Meanwhile, after two days of me missing work, we are STILL dealing with debilitating chronic pain with NO end in sight for months!”
