What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“Dr. Vipul Mangal treated me TERRIBLE as a patient. The female administrator was horrible as well. A doctor at Clearway Pain Solutions put a pain pump in the wrong place in my body.I was in horrible pain.It caused the pain to get worse and the pump to not work as it should regardless of the medication because where he placed it hurt so bad.I was transferred to Dr. Mangal to remove the pump.Initially I really liked him. After he removed the pump my husband took off work and drove me all the way to Oxon Hill 2 weeks post-op to get my staples removed. The receptionist kept insisting I didn't have staples. I said to her the post-op note stated for me to return in 2 weeks to get my staples removed. My husband drove 2 hours up there and 2 hours back. Dr Mangal was in a hurry and I said "Please Dr. Mangal wait a minute... I need my staples removed" and he blurted. out I didn't have staples and that he needed a urine sample and walked out of the office door! So we had to make another appointment. My husband had to take off work AGAIN to go all the way back up there for him to do his job. He never said he was sorry, all he did was blame it on the OR notes. Well I had the OR notes myself and it specifically said return in 2 weeks to get staples removed. I had requested not long after the pump was removed that he take me off a strong oral opiate because I really wanted to get off of the medication because I believed that the pump being removed would take care of everything. The pump had been emptied of all medication prior to my being transferred to Dr Mangal and I was put on oral meds to help with the pain. He seemed very pleased but after a couple weeks post-op the pain was so bad that I asked to be put back on the med. I was the one that initiated my coming off the medication to start with. He refused and sent me to some guy in the practice that acted like he could care less regarding the degree of pain I was in. I called the administrator and she said "listen to you, you sound like a drug addict". I was devastated having to defend myself in severe pain. I asked her had she ever had chronic severe pain? And she said "NO".I said well there you go, you obviously have no understanding of severe chronic pain. How she got to be an administrator of a pain clinic I'll never understand.Such cruelty!! Since I have seen this horrible doctor I finally found a good surgeon and had to have my hardware removed from the previous four fusions as the rods and screws were creating artifacts and the MRI'S could not be read clearly. So in February I had all the hardware removed and recently had an L1- L2 fusion because the new MRI showed discs were herniated and they were impinging the nerves hitting upon the thecal sac that protects the spinal cold. Dr. Mangal was cold and showed ZERO empathy to a patient in severe pain. The receptionist acted like she was a doctor and insisted I didn't have Staples. The female administrator was as cold as ice accusing me and being extremely judgmental. I'd love for all of them to have the pain I had for just a day. I was to the point I was completely disabled. Thank GOD I found a good surgeon who really delved into why I was living in unbearable pain. It obviously wasn't just the pain pump problem, there were other reasons the pain was continuing or else why would I have had a pump put in to start with?? My legs and feet were being affected as well. Dr Mangal could care less so what does he do after he treats me so bad and the administrator spoke to me so horribly?? But of course... He sends me a discharge letter! I had told the person he sent me to in the practice that I could not reduce one medication and to please just put me back on the med that I was on until the pain could be resolved. Nope! Discharged. Rather than work with me to try to figure out why I was in so much pain he just discharged me. A mean spirited doctor that obviously doesn't know whether you even have staples or not. He could care less how much pain you're in.Stay away from Dr. Vipul Mangal.”

“Dr. Mangal read my MRI and diagnosed my problem, explained my options and followed my choices. I chose shots over surgery. When shots had no effect Dr. Mangal asked what I wanted to do. He explained the surgery technique, the device to be used that would "correct" my problem not just mask the pain, and where to google to find any additional information needed. Also the clinic signed me up for Zoom videos that the Surgeon that would perform the procedure. I knew just what to expect. Had the procedure performed, healed in three days and fully functional. Have had no pain since then. It has been more than two years. I have recommended Dr. Mangal and the procedure to friends and family who have the same problem and he has helped them as well.”

“Doctor mangal is one of the few doctors that can go in and talk to him about what's going on and he understands and he listens before he makes a judgment or decides that you're just a drug addict looking for medicine which a been through a few times and it was refreshing to go in his office and talk to him”
