“My experience with TOC's Dr. Chen was an embarrassment to the medical profession. He refused to see me on a return visit sighting that "I took suboxone in my past which meant I was an addict." Facts of the matter was that I was an addict due to being prescribed, by my neurosurgeons, a series of extremely addictive opiates and semi-synthetic opioids, etc. before and after each of my spinal surgeries. I submit to Dr. Chen that he would be an addict also had he been prescribed opiates ranging from 10mg OxyContin to 8mg dilauded (synthetic opioid) which I took everyday for a total of 5 years. No, I wasn't asked any questions by this fake "pain management" doctor. My guess is that Dr. Chen has NEVER experienced pain on a level 8 to 10 for years end to end. Had he been a real pain management doctor, questions would have been asked of me and suitable answers given by me for my suboxone use. Even though my Neurosurgeon's office used Dr. Chen as their "after surgery pain management specialist", I was denied access to pain management based on a misdiagnosis by an undeserving, unworthy "pain management specialist". I have used the services of TOC and their excellent neurosurgical specialists for many years and even more surgeries. This instance of ignorance was a first for me. I've never been so disgusted, disappointed and angry with a "neurological pain management specialist" in my lifetime of neurological, potentially fatal, surgeries. I'm not sure what the criteria is for becoming a neurological pain management specialist but it seems to me that experiencing "personal neurological pain" in your life would be a requirement. Pain is subjective and everyone experiences pain differently. I'm no exception to the rule..... but for a pain management specialist to refuse to see me on a return visit is unexplainable and unacceptable on every level of a doctor's decree. Dr. Chen is an absolute disgrace to his profession...... and should be ashamed of himself for dismissing a multiple neurological surgery patient based on an incorrect assumption. I mean no disrespect to TOC. I mean all the disrespect of this issue to be placed firmly on the shoulders of a disrespectful neurological pain management specialist that isn't worthy of the title.”
