After trying for the better half of 2 years just to be seen I was met with there's nothing we can do for you. I'm in excruciating pain almost everyday. My regular doctor pushed for them to get me in just for them to basically tell just keep moving and the pain will get better. This is not my first rode. No the pain isn't going to get better. It's been like this and getting worse since age 16. I have tried all physically therapy, chiropractor and other treatments all of which have failed or made my situation worse. I do not feel heard by these doctors at all. And I'm at the end of my rope and don't know what to do. This is what sends ppl over then edge and I'm teetering right there about to fall with no compassion or care in the world shown. I don't recommend going here.

I went a while back and spoke to 3 different people about my pain. Two of the individuals were working with my pain specialist and the third I spoke to was the specialist. None of them heard me nor did they acknowledge what I was talking about. They did however draw their own conclusions and focused on one diagnosis that had absolutely nothing to do with the reason I was being seen. I left in tears. I was completely frustrated and disgusted beyond words.Worst experience I have ever had and I refuse to return. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I am unfortunately writing a review for the Pain Management Clinic. I would not recommend coming here. When I expressed that I was terrified of getting injections I was not met with compassion and the doctor there looked at me like she could not believe what I said. Her reactions were so noticeable to me that it was to the point where I responded with "Am I the only person that has expressed being afraid of this procedure?" The doctor nodded her head indicating a yes. I went to Patient Experience and it took them well over 10 business days to respond with "I am sorry you are not satisfied." Wouldn't anyone be if they were treated like that? Not to mention the doctor expressed she was not comfortable performing the procedure and I was denied seeing anyone else. This delayed my diagnostic testing from my surgical consult. I saw this doctor once, which was enough, so obviously I was not doctor shopping. Don't worry UIHC I went to another hospital Interventional Pain Management Clinic in Cedar Rapids. Check out my review there. They were fabulous and took my worries seriously. There bedside manner was outstanding and I got through the procedure just fine. I would suggest doing some training at that hospital and learn how to treat patients. I would like to add that there instructions were confusing. At first they told me no antianxiety meds and then they said it was alright. They did not like my confusion and my questions about this and a nurse did not even return my call. Also the clinic I went to in Cedar Rapids stated they could only do one side at a time because it was too dangerous to do both sides of intercostal nerve blocks as there is an increased risk for complications. Do NOT go to this clinic. Go to Cedar Rapids.

I used to have confidence going to the pain clinic. And felt like I was being heard. After the last time, no. When I talked about the pain I was having at the time the doctor's response was something like " oh now you have a new pain ". I was just being honest. I can't help it. That's where I was hurting. When you have 1 whole side of your body hurting, I would think they would be more sympathetic. Do they know what it's like to not get sleep when you lay down. Because the pain in your shoulder wakes you up. Try sleeping in a chair. And then go to work. It's rough. Maybe someday you doctors will be in pain and see what it's like. Karma. I can no longer recommend the pain clinic . Respectfully, Patti Meyer
