Patient Testimonials

I had to have lens replacement and retina repair in my right eye. My wait in the lobby wasn't even 5 minutes. I was taken back to surgery prep where I was made as comfortable as possible. I had to be awake for the surgery due to my heart issues which meant I had to lay flat on my back for 2 1/2 hours but was given several pillows for under my knees to help alleviate my back pain. During surgery my back started to feel like it was on fire but my doctor was prepared with an IV pain shot. It didn't put me out but helped with my pain. My doctor talked to me throughout the whole surgery to let me know what she was doing. Before I knew it the surgery was done. I was able to go right home since I had no anesthesia. I was given instructions and 2 eye drops.

I sat in the lobby for one hour with No communication from staff. Once I finally got back into the room I sat in there for another 40 minutes. At which time they told me I would have to wait another 6 weeks. For the scheduled injection. When I inquired about the long wait time I was told we are a very busy clinic. If I showed up to my appointment 1hour and 40 minutes late they would not have seen. Clearly, they feel their time is more valuable than mine

University Health Pain Management, 2101 Charlotte Street, 4th Floor, Suite 400 was an elementary business lesson, concerning how one poor employee, can shadow an entire office's professional presentation... Not to mention, garnering (yet, another) negative review, consisting of the cosmic dust, from a single star... The (UH Building 2) office unit, appears to be an auxillary " medical services" corporation, which provides an insurance-driven, conveyor belt of appointments, X-rays, trigger point miracles, prescriptions, and other pain relieving goodies, for the afflicted.... Everything was routine: introduction of a new patient, submittals of paperwork, the "does it hurt, here" questions, prescription suggestions, and the availability, of future appointments.... In short, the staff was....o.k.The building, not difficult to find and a "not-too-painful," Pain Management visit.. The front desk was peopled, with the usual cast of characters, who were grappeling, with another dull Wednesday---while planning, for their next cruise... Ah, but the back desk----circular pen, for the appointment-makers... A sullen young woman, with 'more-than-enough" braids, found my few questions, to be noxious----not to mention, the request for a single page, of paperwork to be copied.... This was due, to the medical transportation contact number, which was printed at the bottom... The young woman stared, rolled her eyes, made a barely detectable "sheesh," sound, and was (considering her general office position) laughably condescending.... On the way out the door, go the the receptionist's, desk-----preferably, while they are in the phone, ignoring you... This is not wasted time, because behind the two preoccupied women, is a large color-coded, dry erase board, FULL of affirmative plaudits... Talk about the delicious irony, of the positively clueless, modern office personnel.... The board is emblazed with drivel, such as: "Be your own kind of beautiful," and cookie-cutter blatter, concerning goals, character development, being non-judgemental, and other "really-hard" self-improvement....The board's cheery positivity, is the exact polar-opposite, of the back unit's sneering appointment maker.... In spite, of everything, not too bad.... Everything was accomplished, and the staff is a director's hoot....!!! Just prepare yourself, to jump on the medical corporation treadmill, and take a number.....

I have had 6 spinal fusions. I have lost 100 lbs and eating right. Everything I need to do. This place does nothing but tell you your pain is here to stay and try to give you shots in your back . After almost 2 years I have only seen the actual doctor once and his advice was to abuse the emergency room on days of uncontrollable pain. They do not manage your pain. They do not manage anything other than billing your insurance.
