It was then I learned how helping people in need contributed to my own sense of self-worth. Upon graduation, I knew I wanted a career where I could have the satisfaction of being able to help people every day, so I decided I wanted to become a doctor. After eight years of practicing medicine in Chicago, I moved to Baton Rouge to be near my family.
