“Let me start by saying that the office staff is amazing. The former doctor who was amazing Dr. Geiger who left the office back in the latter part of 2023. This iswho I was seeing. After she left I was in search of another pain management facility, because I had heard from patients that Dr. Von Tobel's bed side manner was rude and condescending. I made an appointment and saw the nurse practitioner Von Tobel. After submitting a urine sample she came to me and asked me(pretty much accusing) of taking two narcotics and said it was in my urine sample. I explained to her that it couldn't be because one of the medications she was accusing me of I am deathly allergic so why would I take it. And the other medicine I hadn't had since my surgery. I told her that maybe the mistakes my urine for someone elses. She said they don't make mistakes and asked me did I take someone else's medication. I was livid. I left feeling angry, hurt and as if I didn't matter as a patient. I clearly was not being listened to. I didn't go back, until recently. Having no choice because of unbearable pain and the fact that my insurance isn't accepted by any other pain management. So I'm basically stuck getting care by Drs who thinks I'm a pain pill seeking junkie.”

“I visited Dr. Von Tobel probably half a dozen times in the process of receiving two minor procedures. In that time, my pain progressed significantly and remains to be debilitating in nature... but that's not even my major gripe. I was most put off by the fact that, despite a few of the staff being really awesome (you know who you are), the majority of the personnel is wildly unprofessional and seemingly oblivious. The doctor, himself, is arrogant and condescending. I never spoke with him more than a few quick and/or interrupted sentences before he jogged back out of the door. On one occasion, he told me that I needed to make better money so I could buy decent insurance, but that was hardly the only or most offensive thing he ever said to me. Ironically, not long after, my increased income had made me ineligible for said insurance, and the replacement plan I purchased would not go into effect untol after a scheduled appointment I had with him. In the interest of attending the appointment, I asked whoever fields their calls for information about paying out of pocket for the visit. I was told that I would owe $175. That seemed more than reasonable, so I arrived on the set date. I was short on money, and asked to be invoiced for the fee, but was told in no uncertain terms that invoicing a self pay patient was simply not possible, and I'd need to pay the cost in full, or I couldn't be seen by the doctor. So, I did just that. Finally, long after the the scheduled time of my appointment, I was called back to provide a sample for the quick, mandatory urinalysis. From from there, I finally spoke with one of the nurses. It was then, that I was told the the doctor was not even at the office, he'd have to call me back. On my way out, I stopped to schedule my next procedure, but learned that she was not there either. I'd be waiting on two calls... No calls ever came. When I contacted the office the following day to let them know, I was again instructed to wait on the same calls - and I got the same result. Nothing. That was weeks ago, and those calls never came. Now, imagine my surprise when I discovered that, despite being too busy to return my call, Von Tobel had found time to INVOICE ME for a $1200 piss test. Unbelievable.”
