“I love Dr. Chouteau and Shefali Patel. However, their office staff leave MUCH to be desired. They are not only unfriendly, many are downright rude. As a pain patient, I feel like compassionate, kind, patient, and understanding staff should be a given. But that has not been my experience. I know they have a lot going on to run the office but patient care should be at the forefront of their priority list. I was turned away and rescheduled because I was four minutes late. I was told they do not have a grace period for late patients. When I pushed back, I was given a print out of paperwork I had signed in January that they had highlighted to show me their "policy." It would only said "be on time for you appointments." I see MANY doctors for my condition and have never been turned away if I'm within 15 minutes of my appointment. The office staff were dismissive, rude, and uncaring. It's unfortunate because once I see Dr. Chouteau or Dr. Patel, I do feel very valued and cared for. Their nurses are kind, as well. But up until then, the office staff treat me as though I'm just an interruption and that they could care less about me as a patient.”

“I love Dr Chouteau. I dont like having to come every month just to refill medications and vitals and urinate in a cup. I have been disabled since 2009 and have been through different therapy and medications. I dont like all the calls from different people just to satisfy Well Med and other programs. This is really annoying and makes me not happy. I wish someone will listen and stop interferring with my personal life. I use to see the pain doctor every 3 months but Well Med changed it to every month for everyone. I dont think it is necessary for me. I am discouraged and dont want to do it. I try now but dont know how long I can continue. I have other doctors to see but often put them off because of pain and barely able to move sometimes.”
