Patient Testimonials

I'm a long time patient at this pain clinic. I currently am seen at their Hillsborough Ave. location in Tampa. At my last appointment I was called in my medication as usual. I verified with nurse that correct dosage would be called in. She ( Megan) assured me it would (it was called in incorrectly in April, but corrected). When I went to pick up meds I discovered wrong dosage had been called in again. I Immediately called office for them to correct. I was told an urgent message would be sent to doctor. No response, nothing happened. No phone call, no corrected script. This was on a Friday. I heard nothing throughout the day so left messages on portal and with answering service. I made sure the answering service knew i was out of medication. Again, no replies. This left me with no medication over the weekend. On Monday am. again I phoned the offices and again they said they would leave urgent msg. My phone rang shortly after. I could hear papers shuffling but no one was responding to my hello. I went back to portal, I couldnt get through on phone. I left a message that I couldnt hear whoever called, please call again as I can't get through. Again no response. I then called Walgreens who still had no corrected prescription. However the female who answered the phone said doctors are doing this everywhere. They are calling in lower dose scripts. My doctor had no discussion with me about a taper. EVER So, now here I sit extremely uncomfortable, nothing to help with my pain. Do i pick up this lower dose script? Do i believe this is just another error (this happened in April as well but got corrected). No idea. I have no idea what to do. Physicians should return phone calls. Physicians or their staff should communicate with patients. If you're looking for that kind of doctor, look elsewhere. I'm a 64 year old woman with a bladder disease. I've seen 7 urologists over 20 years and tried all procedures, surgeries, etc. before being referred to this pain specialist for severe pain. The pain of this disease is equal to cancer pain. That is why I'm on disability. And my doctor ( Dr.Grana) or his staff can't return a phone call and advise me if this is a forced taper or another error. Well you have one less patient to worry about. And what's even more concerning, I just reviewed my patient portal (and made some copies of what is there). They don't even have my correct diagnosis/disease listed. They have back pain/knee pain as chief complaints. I fill out a form to check in every month, and it clearly says Interstitial cystitis is my chief complaint yet I don't see this in my records. I talk often with Meghan ( Dr. Grana's nurse) as well as Dr. Grana about my bladder pain. Where is it in my records? I'll be following up on this. Please check your portals and make sure that it is accurate and up to date. Mine is neither. This is unacceptable.

Aghhh after wondering why they canceled my appointment I come to leave a review and I see everyone saying there purging pain meds. I take Lyrica. And they cancel a appointment for a new resident who's recently disabled with back surgery . Awesome job Karen of the Dr world .

They are currently purging all patients on pain meds. They said that they are switching to interventional procedures only. Such as injections and surgery for electrostimulation devices. I was told if I didn't want a procedure they would no longer see me. This is straight-up extortion. I don't need injections right now and I don't appreciate being bullied into an unnecessary procedure so they can look good to the FDA & CDC on paper. So if your pain is well controlled by pain medication do not go here as they won't help you. They are a pain management clinic that has stopped managing pain and instead ignores it unless it can be cured by a procedure. Honestly, I don't know how they can legally call themselves a pain management office since they only perform surgery. Their sign needs to be changed from Tampa Pain Relief Centers to Tampa Surgery Centers since this is all they do now.

Had a very frustrating second visit. I've been suffering from neck pain since august and was finally referred to this place. It was only my second visit and it was exhausting. First off, I'm a full time college student and a worker. Today was my only day off, so I scheduled my appointment at 12:45 so that i could have the remaining day to catch up on school work. I even got there 15 mins early just in case. I kid you not, I sat in the patient room until 2! And I still wasn't seen. I had ONE lady come and take my blood pressure and that was it. The remaining time I was waiting and waiting and waiting. I understand that doctors have other patients, but don't schedule me at a time where you won't even be able to see me until hours after. Seems like they clearly over-scheduled because there were also other people in there who haven't been seen. Just seems ridiculous to be waiting in a doctors office for over an hour and still haven't been seen. I'm sorry its just I've got things in my day to do, I don't have all day to be waiting. Seems like they have no sense of urgency. And then the lady I spoke to first to express my frustration(calmly) was rude. She gave an attitude saying well he's got other patients. Like yeah I get that, but if he can't see a patient every hour, then don't schedule one every hour. Bummed because I'm just trying to find treatments for my neck and it seemed like they just didn't care.
