What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“We'll it's considered OSF health care now, but didn't have the best experience with the new doctors so far. I went in on 9-18-24 with multiple symptoms. I had a bad cold, ear infection, and something wrong with my stomach which then was infecting my bowels also, after three hrs, the doctor sent me home with a prescription of Imodium AD, told me to drink lots of fluids and rest. I was also there at the beginning of the month with the same ear infection and they didn't do anything for me either. I saw my doctor on the 24th of September and she prescribed me a bunch of antibiotics. She doesn't know why the ER doctors didn't prescribe them as they clearly saw from my blood work I was very sick. I also have a very nasty bruise on my arm still from one of the nurses sticking me with a needle several times cuz she couldn't seem to find my vein. I'm hesitant about going there again even though it's closer to home for me. I might as well go to the Princeton hospital next time.”

“Misdiagnosed my mother by saying she had arthritis when it was actually cancer! Awful! Go elsewhere. Your life depends on it. Update: My mom passed away in 2016. Her doctors informed us that throughout all the records they were sent by IVCH included errors. Ex. Xray of wrong side, noted lesions were ignored, anemia with no follow up just diagnosis, irregular results with her kidney function...all ignored. Not to mention the pain DR she saw stated in her records she couldn't afford treatment so too bad for her (paraphrasing). We visited several lawyers. Yes we had a case but Illinois makes it nearly impossible to sue because of tort laws. My mom has been gone three years and IVCH is to blame for her shortened life. Needless to say I am still very much in the anger part of the grief process.”

“Other than allyssa, who was one of the nurses on the ob floor, all of the staff here was extremely rude. The emergency room sent us away 3 times before we got any help at all, and the only reason we got any help at all was because our actual obgyn doctor had us admitted. If possible go somewhere else. Also, if you have kids they expect you to leave them in the car while your in the hospital. Zero stars not an option.”

“If I could give 0 stars, I would. My 6 month old baby was admitted for RSV. Instead of putting oxygen on her, they told me to hold a cup that they had stuck the oxygen tubing in over her nose and mouth. But this isn't the worst. During the night they OVERDOSED my 6 month old baby on steroids and hid it from me for 12 hours!!!! I immediately had her transferred to a different hospital once I found out. My Primary doctor at the time was in their hospital network but I have since changed doctors. I will not step a foot in their hospital or a doctor's office that affiliates with this hospital! From the reviews, you can tell that this hospital needs to change their culture. I can't believe that this behavior is allowed!”
