“On May 7 I was referred by the ER Physician and they were able to do a consult with me that same day. I met with Dr.Muir and after seeing my CT results he explained why I was having pain. He suggested I do physical therapy, and to return on a different day to give me a steroid injection since Insurance won't allow a consult & injection on the ame visit. On that same initial visit I scheduled my appointment for Monday May 12 for my injection, I did tell Dr.Muir that I would be out of town but we agreed to reserve that slot in case I was back in time and if not he knew why I didn't show. Since my pain continued I called to schedule my appointment for a steroid injection the soonest was for May 28 @8:40 am. I even called the day before ( May 27 ) to confirm I was going in for an injection and the receptionist confirmed. I show up on time on the 28 as agreed, I pay my co-pay, get checked in and I get called back quite quickly, as soon as the young lady starts taking my vitals I asked her if she could please stay in the room with me while I get my injection and she says " you aren't having one today, this is just a consult" I explained I had called weeks earlier specifically asking for the appointment for my injection. She said to wait, left and returned to tell me she could cancel the appointment, refund me my copay, then I could return at 4:10 pm to get a shot. I told her I could not return at that time because I would be working, and that I had already made arrangements to show up late for work just to even make the 8:40 am visit. I left feeling frustrated and that little effort was made to have the Dr. help me in that moment. I asked to speak with the office Manager but was told she works on Thursdays so I pretty much left feeling like I was just another number or more like an idiot in pain. Everyone's time is valuable and I would have appreciated at least a more professional and courteous rejection.”
