“I feel it's important to share my experience. After my first visit with Dr. Petrou, I realized we were not a good fit for my care. The first thing he told me was that he could not help because he refuses to prescribe any medication and ONLY performs interventional procedures.$$$ I only met him briefly at the end of my first appointment while his fellow handled the entire appointment including the exam. I met Dr Petrou for 5 minutes, if that. His fellow was kind, compassionate, and understanding, which I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, that compassion did not come from Dr. Petrou. After developing RIH from a blood patch Dr Petrou performed (it's a complication that can happen), his team told me to take an excessive amount of Tylenol because he REFUSES to prescribe medications. Controlled or not. That is NOT acceptable pain management. I've been gasping for air and screaming from pain. I finally found another interventional pain specialist who prescribed medication to help me manage until surgery. The difference in care and compassion I'm receiving now has been night and day.
