DO NOT GO TO PHENIX CITY PAIN MANAGEMENT IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. THIS DOCTOR IS NOT A NEUROLOGIST, HE'S AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST. Although he's able to practice in pain management does not mean that you should put yourself at risk. My husband went here for back injections and that requires an IV. Dr. Berryman and his staff are not following protocols set by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Failure to wear gloves during the insertion of the IV and the removal of the IV, is a direct violation. I was with my husband and seen this happen two times. The nurse will enter the room and touch everything to take the bloodpressure, using the pen to write, and the tray table that is used for the insertion of the IV, then without washing her hands or wearing gloves, she will open all of the sterile supplies and place an IV. The last time, I questioned the nurse and the doctor about not wearing gloves, and was told that this is the way he does things. The room where my husband was carried for the back injections, no staff or doctor wore a medical mask. This is another violation. None of the staff in the room was wearing gloves. The doctor didn't clean his back with iodine, he used an alcohol swab before giving my husband epidural lumbar Injections. Then the x-ray tech who was in the room the whole time touching various things, took out my husband's IV without washing his hands or putting on gloves. These standards are set by OSHA and this applies to any hospital or clinic. It's a violation of personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitation. All doctors and nurses must adhere to these standards to protect everyone from any infections, primarily the IV site and potential bloodstream. These infections include Staph (staphylococcal infections), which is a serious bloodstream infection and can cause paralysis.

I had to call and cancel my husband's apt cause of our car breaking down and was told to call back to see if they could fit him in. We the receptionist was a real smartass and rude she said she was telling everyone not to cancel their apt well we had no choice we found out it was a blown motor. What did she expect us to do walk all the way from clayton thats 50 miles and we both are over 60 The staff is very rude and lie, she got smart with me and I got smart back and called her a smartass, she gave me an apt of 2:45 so I called back to confirm it then she said it was 3:00 so she lied about that onto of it. We are always 30 mins early. And what Dr would let his patient go all month without his medication. I do not recommend going there.

I heard a friend via email state the dr and staff were both RUDE! How, well she arrived early for a procedure, caudal, for back pain. Her copay is 15.00. However billing state to her on the day of procedure she needs to pay 24.00 and $100.00 for the procedure itself. Needless to say she was not prepared to hear all of this!!! Now on top of this fiasco, she later start talking to patients in the waiting area who were waiting to have same procedure and ran into same problems. Why the Dr., Dr Berryman rush out his office and tell my friend, she will have to leave disrupting patients. Awful service to a patient in pain!!!! How far are we willing to go to fetch money? How cruel!!!

Dr. Berryman is a great doctor very caring and thorough with his patients, he's a great doctor best over had in years. He recommended a heated mattress pad and it works wonders I love it. I feel great when I get up. You should get one if you have body pain and more. Also his new office is very clean and you can get through by phone finally. The wait time not long. I definitely recommend him to anyone with chronic pain. Also the whole staff is very nice and caring and you need that when your in pain. Thank you to the staff and Dr.berryman
