Patient Testimonials

Staff is rude and sitting on phone and making excuses of why you're on hold for an hour - ridiculous! We were greeted with "do you know you're checking in 30 min early." Ummm...yes, I know how to tell time.

From the very first moment I contacted Penn State Health Rehabilitation Outpatient Hospital I was impressed! Michelle (Patient Services Specialist) was so cheerful, helpful and accommodating and was a pleasure to talk with when I first called in to schedule and appointment. Michelle was able to schedule me an appointment and provide me with much needed answers about my insurance coverage. Today was my first appointment and I knew that this place was top notch and professional from my the instant I walked into the center. Michelle and all the therapists knew all the names of their patients and greeted them happily. I was so impressed by this since this does not happen much in the health care system anymore. The center was clean and very organized with up- to -date equipment along with a bright cheerful and environment . I had an appointment with Stacy Mierzwicki , MOTR/, CLT and was immediately impressed by her caring and sincere demeanor. She listened to me carefully and heard what I was saying. She and then did a thorough evaluation that was spot as she identified my concerns and issues. She explain my condition is easy to understand terms and laid out a plan for recovery and improvement. Even though this practice is out-of -network for me, I still have decided to go with Hershey Outpatient Rehab Center because of the warmth, expertise and confidence displayed by both Stacey and Michelle. I am looking forward to continuing my care and rehab with this program and have confidence that I will be on the road to recovery soon after a long battle with breast cancer.

I see Christina Houck N.P. She is an intelligent, caring persoon. She is thorough, and takes her time with me. I feel the rehab has a caring staff as well. I felt like I was their only patient. No rushing to get me finished to see another patient. I recommend coming here.

Dr. Shi was dismissive, and couldn't give a differential diagnosis. I had my child evaluated for EDS because myself and their sibling have been dx'd for over 10 years, and this child has more issues as they get older. Dr. Shi made the comment that "everyone has ehlers-danlos now," which is wrong. We're just now getting doctors who know what it is, but he's obviously not one of them. He didn't even take any actual measurements or run any tests.
