“Called to make pain management appt for epidural injections which TWO independent ortho specialists referred me to and said should be done asap. They have no appts in reasonable time range (basically I'd have to wait two months and face a permanent paralysis- right now I'm unable to walk, explained that repeatedly). office staff are unprofessional, unhelpful, racist and rude. Told me to go find a different place to get treatment and that I'm not the only patient in pain. When I told them how pain is effecting me they said go to er (ridiculous as I did that in the past and er referred me to ortho); and after that they called police to my residence lying that I said I was suicidal. I Filed a formal complaint. The supervisor started making nasty comments to me over the phone when I asked how to file a grievance, saying that I already scheduled a different appt elsewhere (I did as I need these sevs asap, and that's none of your business, Heather). I spent two hours pleading w them on the phone prior to trying other places to schedule a sooner appt and then called every single place in 150 miles radius and you have no right to abuse me based on the fact I'm trying to get a service which two specialists said had to be given asap. Unethical, racist, rude. They treated me horribly only because I don't have a European name and am an immigrant.beware. BTW, other places, like UPMC and Geisinger offer to put patients on a fast track / waitlist. Not everyone is as entitled and rude as you guys are”

“I went to see Abla-Yao, Shiyi, MD last November. I had recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and needed help controlling the pain. The only thing she offered me was to make an appointment with her for her acupuncture clinic. 1. Our health insurance does not cover acupuncture. It is considered experimental. When I explained it was not covered and asked for other advice she said she was unable to help me. 2. When I read the notes from my appointment she placed in there that she recommended other treatments and that I'd make another appointment when I am ready to pursue them. She did not offer any other treatment besides her acupuncture! I was in years when I left my appointment! I filed a complaint with Evangelical Hospital and that didn't find any problems.”
