“This was my first experience with a pain clinic. After several months, I never saw a doctor. No doctor explained my condition to me nor discussed treatment options. I was told that the doctor never comes to the Griffin office. To see him, I would have to go to Stockbridge. My pain was well controlled with medication but I was told that I MUST submit to injections which were never explained to me, other than to say that sometimes it worked, sometimes it doesn't. I told her that I did not feel my pain was bad enough for such an invasive procedure. I was not given any input into my care. She told me that's what their doctors demand. I don't do anything without the opportunity to research the procedure and the qualifications of who is working on me. Because I did not agree to the more invasive and expensive procedure, I was kicked out of the practice with no discussion of next steps. I will find a clinic that meets my definition of proper patient care.”
