“One of the worst patient care experiences I have ever experienced. The doctors themselves could be outstanding, however the staff member responsible for intake and scheduling (Sherry?Shelly? I genuinely can't recall) is just awful. I had a lumbar puncture at Piedmont hospital and they sent a referral to pain consultants of Atlanta and told me to call shortly after and ask if it was possible to be seen that day for a blood patch. I waited a while and called- but the woman I spoke to not only was condescending and rude, but when I explained why I was calling she huffed and said "yeah I got one yesterday for that- where do you live- yeah that's not you" making it clear she hadn't bothered to call that received referral either. She abruptly told me "that's not how things work" when I said Piedmont had said to ask about getting in asap. She said she would call me when my information was received. I never heard from her, and followed up with the hospital who assure me they had sent it and told me when. The weekend passed with me in significant pain and unable to do much more than lay flat and hope I didn't move too quickly or cough or sneeze. I called back Monday morning around 11 am. Someone else answered there and yelled over asking if anything had come in with my name and did they want to talk to me. I was put in the phone with the same woman as Friday. She said yes she received the info, then asked me when I had the procedure and explained it had been Wednesday and I bad initially called Friday morning. Her response was "it's been FIVE days- you don't feel better?" She proceeded to say they didn't have any openings and she would have to talk to her supervisor and call me back. That was Monday morning- it's Thursday and I haven't received a call. I would hope those running this office would look into this as I can't think this is a one off situation.”
