Patient Testimonials

First, the staff is AWESOME! Dr. Taub is an excellent doctor. He truly cares about my wellbeing. I've had many, many surgeries over the years and have been on pain meds a long time. Due to the other pain meds being so short acting (I would wake up in the middle of the night in withdrawal) I was switched to Buprenorphine. I was very hesitant at first because I thought that was a medication for addiction. Wrong! It works well for my pain and is long lasting. Unfortunately, the majority of physicians are not aware that this med is not only for addiction, but pain as well. After the past few surgeries where I was inpatient admission, the doctors at the hospital only saw the medication on my file and right away assumed I was an addict. I was severely undertreated for my pain. A chest tube hurts like hell and yet I was given only 5mg of oxycodone every 4 hours. After being on pain meds for years, that dose didn't even touch my pain. I understand that the DEA has cracked down on irresponsible (some criminal) doctors, however, it has made most of them so afraid that they undertreat patients in pain. They need to get educated on Buprenorphine for sure because those who take it are not all addicts. Even if they are treating an addict, they need to treat those patients with the amount of pain meds needed to help alleviate some of that pain. The stigma around addiction is very sad. Those people are human beings and deserve the same care as a non addict. I almost got off of my medication due to being treated so poorly but Dr. Taub really set me straight. If it helps my pain then who cares what others think? Thank you Dr. Taub!

Sobriety can be restored don't continue on a path of destruction or death. Please I beg of you to go see Dr. Taub and his staff. 1 more day on any prescription drug or narcotics could be your last when buying off the street's. There's help and hope at his office and live to see many tomorrow's (I'm Thankful)

I have been seeing Doc for the 8 to 9 years since I moved to NC. We both love dogs and turtles lol. He is genuinely caring about your situation. I have had both knees and a hip replaced already at only 57 years old. So am I better after those procedures--- 1O0% but then covid really did a number on me. I almost died. My femoral vein collapsed, I ended up in afib and that's when the hip failed. My body had cut off the blood flow to my right hip not considering it to be a vital organ causing it to become brittle and decrepid. Walked around with a Cwalker for a year and then the head of the femur bone basically snapped-so walah - joint replacement number three. I found myself in still persistent painful blood flow issues paired with the lack of mobility from my surgeries. I felt beaten down. When does it end-when can I catch a break? I prayed and prayed for the big guy in the sky to help or just take me. It got that bad. I couldn't sleep, I stopped doing things I loved to do. Fishing, going to the beach, taking the dogs on adventures. I had about given up on everything except being miserable for whatever time I had left. Then to conclude my novel- (sorry but I wanted to give some who feel hopeless, hope) there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Doc listened patiently to my novel and came up with a plan to not only get me my much neeeed sleep but also to alleviate the chronic additional pain. So since then my life has turned around. I'm back to doing what I love. He has worked with me to tweak the meds when we've needed. We've become bonded in our love for animals and I am forever grateful to him and the big guy for giving me hope and b my life back.
