National Spine & Pain Centers (NSPC) is one of the nation's largest pain management practices in the United States. Formed in 2011 with a re-brand of The Spine Center - NSPC quickly expanded, partnering with Capitol Spine & Pain in 2012. We strive to bring high quality providers in the specialty of pain management together to offer an extensive network to meet the needs of an ever growing population of patients living in chronic pain. In late 2012 our affiliations grew with the addition of New York Pain Physicians (now New York Spine & Pain Physicians), bringing our number of centers to over 60 with close to 100 providers in D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Virginia and West Virginia.

Patient Testimonials
“After transferring from another pain management office due to poor patient care, I came to NSPC desperately seeking relief from a recently diagnosed chronic condition that has significantly impacted my quality of life. My first consult w/Dr. B seemed promising. He offered compassion & assurance that my health would be highly regarded & prioritized. However, I've received the exact opposite. As I type this, I'm on hold for the umpteenth time-- going on 15minutes in real time. For months, I've called countless times to get an update on my status. I had another visit with an assistant who was quite unpleasant. When I discreetly & politely inquired about seeing another assistant, I was told no without consideration. I've never visited an office where an accommodation request could not be regarded when a patient is uncomfortable with a provider's service. There has been pending work to complete prior to my injection approval. Initially, there was an insurance delay but since then there continues to be such a blatant disregard for simple follow-up from NSPC. Messages don't get returned & when I finally speak to someone, I'm placed on hold for extended periods. It seems as though they're hoping I'll just give up. I finally spoke to the office manager, Barbara, & was assured that she would follow-up-- only to be disappointed again. This experience has been very disheartening. As I end this review, I still await my call to be addressed with my hold time now at 27 minutes -- absolutely unacceptable. The receptionist picks up & addresses me as though I'm a new incoming call. Apparently, I was forgotten about, AGAIN.”

“I've been sadly disappointed with the outcome at NSPC White Plains. After exhausting numerous attempts to rectify my concerns, I've decided it's just not worth further stress.Which is truly disheartening when you deal with chronic pain & are desperately seeking relief. More-so, simple encouragement & compassion can be very impactful. There has been no effort made to reflect that my care is valued. After becoming a patient in late 2024, I've since spent months struggling for basic attentiveness. NSPC is lacking fundamental customer service. The call forwarding system is awful. You're constantly in a loop & when you finally think you're making progress you get a message saying no one is available. Voicemails go unreturned & messages left with staff members get lost. As if the follow-up wasn't poor enough, after jumping through all these hoops, the communication amongst the staff complicates matters further. I've been talking to the same people, yet each time it's as if I have to start from the beginning. There seems to be no thorough notes maintained from the physicians during visits because the responses are often clueless. After months of patience & persistence, I've been told that I need to come back in for re-evaluation. Mind you, this is further inconvenience. Although, as the patient I've been proactively advocating on my own behalf, because NSPC lacks diligence & professionalism they expect me to return to spend more of my time & resources. Although it'll further extend my journey, I'd rather go somewhere else & be treated with dignity.”

“I had been a patient at National Spine and Pain for exactly four visits since January of this year. During that time, I was unsure of the level of care I was receiving, as Dr. B seemed more interested in talking to me about the rapper Jellyroll than he was about my condition. I had a round of steroid injections scheduled for which I received a call, text, and email confirming the appointment. Per the doctors suggestion, I took the day off of work. So did Dr. B. I never got that injection and am still in pain.”

“We came to this office for help with chronic pain and were never told at any point until running out of cymbalta that you have to be seen monthly for refills. When I called to have my son's med refilled they would not refill it even though he was seen 5 weeks prior in the office. They also never issued a refill for cymbalta on that last visit. They also never scheduled a follow up at that last appointment or said when to come back. They scheduled him for a date 2 weeks away from me calling to get the refill of cymbalta after telling him he was completely out and suggested we go to the ER or an urgent care if he needed it filled. They said it was against their policy to get it filled from his primary. Its not a medication you can stop abruptly and its also not a narcotic. He had been on the medication already almost 2 years. To abruptly stop the medication can cause all the side effects listed in the attached photo. They also do not allow for any video visits. Switched to John hopkins pain management which does allow exceptions for people who are mobility impaired or have severe pain days where they can not leave their house.”
