We strive to bring high quality providers in the specialty of pain management together to offer an extensive network to meet the needs of an ever growing population of patients living in chronic pain. In late 2012 our affiliations grew with the addition of New York Pain Physicians (now New York Spine & Pain Physicians), bringing our number of centers to over 60 with close to 100 providers in D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Virginia and West Virginia.

What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“I was very impressed with Dr. Protopapas. She was well versed with my records before she entered the consultation. Her interpretation of my MRI images was thorough and amazing. She saw details about which I hadn't been informed until my session with her. Her positive and upbeat personality was very encouraging. Although my procedure was yesterday, I am beginning to feel some improvement with regard to the pain level in my lower back. I know that I am in good hands with Dr. P. I also want to commend the person who checked me in and out of the office. She was very friendly and kind. I also thought that Salil, the nurse practitioner from my previous visit, was kind, friendly, and knowledgable.”

“I cannot say enough good things about the staff at the Fair Oaks location. The ladies at the front desk are always kind, patient, and make sure you have everything you need before you leave. Dr. P is fantastic at what she does--she takes the time to explain your pain and walk you through the details of any procedure, which makes the whole process far less intimidating. That said, Salil is by far one of the BEST doctors I have ever had in my life. After more than 15 years of dealing with chronic pain and visiting countless pain management offices, I can confidently say he is exceptional. Salil always takes his time with me; I have never once felt rushed under his care. He goes above and beyond to help me understand the source of my pain and to explain, step-by-step, what we're going to do to address it. He actively listens, and I always leave my appointments feeling truly heard and understood. On top of his skill and compassion, Salil also brings a welcome sense of humor into the room--something that means a lot when you live with chronic pain. That lightness, combined with his gentle and kind demeanor, makes each visit more comfortable and reassuring. I feel genuinely cared for every time I see him. If you are looking for a pain management specialist who will treat you like a person and not just a patient, I cannot recommend Salil and the Fair Oaks team highly enough.”

“Most of the reviews you may read here are true. This is a large company. Because of that, they have their own "policies". I dislike "policies", a lot. Policy #1. You have to see a NP twice, one prelim exam and again after imaging before getting any injections or treatment. #2. You cannot bring in imaging disks prior to your appointment, wasted drive...wasted time and pain from the drive. So I sat and waited 15 minutes for the NP to read the disk, instead of him viewing/preparing ahead of time. From what I have read from the other reviews, they may have shot policies and protocols. The front staff have much to be desired. The NP was very responsive. To be continued.....”
