What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“The greeting I received when I entered the check-in area was excellent. After filling out some paperwork, I sat waiting for only a few minutes, and they called me back to room 2 for a checkup. After only a few minutes of waiting the Doctor came in. He was very polite and professional. He told me the procedure in detail and answered all of my questions. I felt good when I left the building. I feel like the Doctor will help me with my pain. Very pleased with this office.”

“If you are reading these reviews because you are curious about how the new Doctor, Samuel Luebbert, is compared to Dr. Holland this is the one to read. Without going too much into my pain experience or treatment plans, here is the basics. My intake started with Dr. Holland and him providing me his opinion on what treatments would be best moving forward. I left that first initial appointment feeling like all my questions had been answered and that my doctor had a good understanding of what I was experiencing and how to best treat it. Unfortunately, Dr. Holland has since left and his replacement is Dr. Samuel Luebbert who has now taken over my treatment that Dr. Holland saw fit. I have had two appointments with this new doctor and after this second one I will not be returning to this specific national spine and pain center due to how he treated me within this appointment. There were just too many red flags with this doctor to where I do not feel comfortable seeking any further care. When he walked into my appointment room he started asking me about my neck pain which I do not experience at all, my pain is in both my shoulders expending to my elbows at times. Red flag: not reading the patient sheet/ having an understanding of what the patient is experiencing before walking through the door. He started arguing with me that he didn't have a good understanding because Dr. Holland did my intake to which I responded that he should then do an evaluation of me since he didn't seem to have a good idea of what I was experiencing. Did not want to. Red Flag. Went on to the care that I was there for which were trigger points and continued to not listen to where I needed my injections to give me the full effect I needed. Red flag. After my trigger point he wanted to make changes to my medication when I have been on these medications for almost 2 years and they are doing exactly what I need them to do. Additionally to that point, why would I take advice from a doctor that had no idea of my condition before even walking through the door or even following the instructions of how I have typically get my trigger points done. From the moment Dr. Luebbert walked in the door I felt as if Dr. Luebbert saw me and my care as something left behind by Dr. Holland and just wanted to get me out of the door as fast as possible. I spent more time in the waiting room than I did with this doctor which is a lot to say when so much went wrong. I left in tears after seeing Dr. Luebbert and when both receptionist heard my complaints they said I am not the only one who has left in tears after seeing this new doctor. This comment only drilled it in my head that I needed to find a new place of care and also ensure that multiple people of management knows that I am not the only person with this experience. I have never left any establishment feeling so awful that I needed to write a one star review and it really saddens me for this specific national spine and pain clinic because every other person I have interacted with besides Dr. Luebbert has been absolutely amazing. I spoke with the in house manager to place a formal complaint but no formal notes were taken which has lead me to reach out to HR. I want my experience to be a reference incase another patient has as awful an experience as I did. There needs to be documentation to show undeniable proof that this is a pattern with Dr. Luebbert so I will be the first to start.”

“Moved here from md a few months back and I've had the same care plan for my pain for 10 years. 3rd visit here after charging me my 80 dollar copay they inform me they no longer want to provide me the care I need. Oh and like other reviews have noted they don't seem to read a chart or anything before coming in. Asking me about lower back pain when all of my pain has always been in my upper back/shoulders. Doctor doesn't seem to want to hear anything you have to say and makes assumptions based on his experience. Being like <30 that isn't much.”

“READ THE BAD REVEIWS! I did not! I am deeply disappointed with my experience at National Spine and Pain Centers. Long story shortened. My journey began in 2023 when my lumbar pain severely limited my ability to walk and engage in daily activities. Desperate for relief, I sought treatment at their Fredericksburg office and scheduled a trial Radiofrequency Ablation procedure, which required two trial rounds for insurance approval. Unfortunately, Dr. Soteropoulos, who performed my first trial, was incredibly rude and dismissive. The procedure was excruciatingly painful, and his lack of empathy was shocking. I was never told about the excruciating pain of this procedure and how it works. Hoping for a better experience, I transferred to the Charlottesville office, even though it meant restarting the trial procedures. I finally received some relief from Dr. Holland's treatment in January 2024, allowing me to enjoy activities like walking my dogs and visiting museums again. I couldn't believe how well the procedure worked! 70% of my pain was gone! However, by July 2024, the pain returned tenfold and my pain level was at a 20 on a 1 to 10 scale, and I needed another ablation. Dr. Holland quickly approved the procedure after literally a 30-second consultation. The second procedure in August 2024 resulted in severe pain and complications. I had NEVER had shooting, burning pain going down my legs before my second procedure!!! I contacted the office, Nurses and DRs expressing my concerns that the wrong nerves had been treated. My mid back has hurt me since 1998 and all the sudden the pain was gone?? Did the Dr burn the wrong nerves? but I was met with dismissive and argumentative responses. To make matters worse, Dr. Holland retired, and the new doctor was equally dismissive, refusing to listen to my concerns and offering an epidural procedure instead! This sounds absolutely NUTS to me! Good thing I requested my medical records before they could go in and change any negligence on their behalf. Now, I'm left with unresolved pain and nerve damage, fearing potential long-term consequences. I strongly advise against seeking treatment at National Spine and Pain Centers due to the incompetence and lack of compassion demonstrated by their staff. If anyone knows of a reliable practice that can provide competent and compassionate care, please let me know."”
