What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“Saved my life in May of 2024. Have never had a bad experience since going back for follow ups and for pain management. I think this hospital is better than Carle and OSF in regards to emergency, and their trauma level. Nearly every nurse was amazing, with the exception of one but I don't remember her so she wasn't that bad, just not as nice as all the others. I felt like I was truly cared for when I was admitted. Surgery went well and I was back to normal a couple of weeks later. Great hospital, friendly staff.”

“I was referred to DMH pain clinic 3 weeks ago and I have gotten to info as to an appointment or even a prospect of an appointment. I have gotten zero phone calls returned. I've been told twice two weeks apart that they are just now working on the end of July's referrals and they don't work on referrals "all day every day". I requested my doctor refer me to St Mary's pain clinic on Monday and have already received a call and my first appointment is in two weeks. Anyone suffering in pain might consider doing the same.”

“Everyone was professional and courteous. I'm a new patient but don't see having any problems here. There was hardly any wait and all the employees were nice.”

“I would absolutely NOT recommend this pain clinic. To begin with, they do not answer their phones and it constantly goes to voicemail. I continued to call with no response. My husband had been referred, so we continued to wait. He then ended up having to go to the ER, so after being right there on campus, I physically walked in to this location (after repeatedly calling again with no answer). They were not friendly at all when I approached the reception area. I asked if they had received the referral or my phone calls, and she acted like I was putting her out by having to look it up. She said she didn't see the referral. I called the dr's office and asked them to fax it while I was there. They did and I said I would wait. The receptionist looks at me and says "That is not the way this works. Once we get the referral, we have a process to go through. Does he have an MRI and has he done all of his physical therapy?" I said yes on the MRI and he was waiting on physical therapy because of his pain. She said they would not do anything for us then. No call back. Nothing. So we went to the Springfield Memorial pain clinic which he was able to get into within 2 weeks. They also do call back and have their act together. I was also told by my husband's dr that the Decatur Pain clinic doesn't even have an MD on staff and that it is only nurses and nurse practitioners. I would avoid this place at all costs. They need to close it if they can't respond to people who need care.”
