“I went to Dr. Kari for five and a half years; was compliant, courteous and respected him to a certain extent. The problem was he never respected me. I have an intrathecal pain pump that he put in. I have had chronic pain for over 25 years. The day I got the pump my hateful baby sister badmouthed me to him. He came into my room and literally chewed me out and when I went in for my 1 week appointment, he started in on me again and started telling me about what my sister said. I informed him she was only my emergency contact and he shouldn't discuss anything about me to her. I always got along with him; it was difficult to listen to him sometimes walking in and out of the room complaining about his patients, in general thinking they knew more about their pain than he did, etc. I just tried hard not to make him mad and even humored him sometimes. I had my third hip replacement this past winter and it was problematic. The pain was excruciating, the Spring weather was damp and cold and I was doing my best in physical therapy. I went to see him and he was irate and gave me literal hell again and put me down, reminded me of what my sister had said and I was in so much pain I actually cried. He raised my pain pump medicine for the first time in 1 1/2 years. I went back for a 1 week check and he started in again and I simply said he didn't have to be so disrespectful, insulting and talk to me like he had. He said he "didn't like my attitude" and discharged me. I was in the worst pain I had ever been in. I had a fibromyalgia flare and along with my other chronic illnesses and he wouldn't even treat me decent. His referral to my new doctor said I came in crying and of course he tried to make me sound bad. I trusted him and when I was at my worst he let me down. Just think he could be a little more mature.”

“The only thing Dr Kari suggested was injections. Im still in a lot of pain and was told with time and physical therapy its possible that it would go away and that he didn't know what else he could do for me. 2 weeks later I just cant ignore the pain and suggested an ultrasound to see if it could show anything that the MRI and xray couldn't and was brushed off telling me to follow-up with my primary care provider. What a waste of time. Look elsewhere.”
