What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“I have had an extremely disappointing multi-year long experience with this clinic. * The wait time to even get an appointment was very long. * Once I finally got in, the appointments felt pointless, more like appointments to schedule other appointments rather than to address my pain. * One doctor completely missed a scheduled appointment and never rescheduled. * Another appointment was for the wrong procedure, which made the visit useless. * Most recently, a doctor has rescheduled my appointment three separate times, pushing it from October all the way to late February. Meanwhile, my pain continues, and nothing has been done to help me. I have felt dismissed, unseen, and uncared for throughout this process. A pain clinic should provide relief and support, but instead I've only experienced delays, mismanagement, and neglect.”

“Dr. Burton and all the staff at Lovelace UNM pain clinic on Walter, Albuquerque, are wonderful people. They try very hard to help me manage my SI joint and knee pain. I am grateful.”

“I have been going here for like 6 months, not once have my medication refills gone smoothly. Once Kyle claimed he never perscribed one that he had been filling for me for a couple months already. Half the time he never fills them during the appointments even if it comes up, like last week when he asked me if my medications helped and I told him the pain is even worse without them, and yet, no refill. One time I had to call for a refill because he forgot, and he filled it incorrectly and it took me 2 refills attempts to figure out he messed up. And apparently he doesnt work Mondays, so since he forgot to fill my meds last week, and I had to ration over the weekend, I still can't even get it filled even though the clinic itself is open. I have had to go on and off my meds so many times with this freaking guy, and my pain medication only helps 30%. He also writes a different pain scale in his notes than what I tell him half the time. Oh, another important thing, he is unwilling to give handicap placards unless you are fully wheelchair bound. As someone who has varying pain levels requiring different levels of mobility aids, thats an absolute bullshit policy to have as a pain specialist. He also insisted on redoing a referral that my primary doctor did, and he did it incorrectly so I am currently on a completely different physical therapy track than a should be. Guy has a huge ego as well for how bad at his job he seems to be. It is way too hard to find a pain specialist in this state for this to be the standard.”

“UPDATE: I went to another clinic. We started with trigger point injunctions for some IMMEADIATE relief and then Caudle injections are scheduled.... The trigger point injections helped. A LOT. This the difference between healing and making customers. LOVELACE jumped straight to excruciating procedures. They don't offer sedation and recommend you take Tylenol or ibuprofen... if that worked why in the world am I in your office? Why not try different anti inflammatories? Gabapentin?”
