“It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Sykes. The office staff was very friendly and helpful. There was never a long wait in the waiting room. My calls were usually returned same day or at the very latest the next day. I sought out Dr. Sykes because the care I was previously receiving from other pain management providers was not helpful. I was in severe pain for over a year and a half. Much of it excruciating During my appointment with Dr. Sykes, he spent time with me explaining the extent of my condition and what to expect of the proceedure he recommended. Dr. Sykes showed me the MRI and x-ray. The other providers never showed my images to me and I felt rushed at the visits . I definitely did not feel like a person. Seeing the imaging confirmed the severity and complexity of my condition. Dr. Sykes explained the proceedure he recommended that would give some relief of my pain. He also made it clear that I also needed extensive surgery for the rest of my lumbar problems. Dr. Sykes preformed the MILD proceedure.. Mininally Invasive Lumbar Decompression. I am now relieved of a significant amount of pain which was long over due. I can't believe I was living with so much severe pain for so long. I wish I had contacted Dr. Sykes first on my pain management journey. Dr. Sykes helped me get my life back. Before I saw Dr. Sykes I was bedridden in excruciating pain. My pain has been reduced significantly. I can now drive and do the activities of daily living. I still need more surgery ,from a diffrrent type of surgeon, ,which he clearly explained. None of the other providers treated me like a person. I was made to feel like I was a drug addict searching for drugs and did not prescribe pain medication. Dr. Sykes always treated me well and listened to what I had to say. I never felt rushed when in his office and there was never a long wait. Dr. Sykes always asked if I had any questions at the end of visit. I am now in much better care and feeling soooo much less pain.
