“My father had an appointment scheduled one month out. He was told to arrive 30 minutes early, which makes sense as most offices function that way. He receives a call the day before his appointment that due to the doctor's illness, he has to reschedule. He understands that and is willing to reschedule. Being he waited a month already, he was hoping he wouldn't have to wait ANOTHER month. Note: My father takes morphine. If he runs out of his medication he WILL go into withdrawal and suffer significant complications not excluding death. The woman on the phone offered first week of December, which is yet another month to wait. Understandably, my father is upset about this. Being concerned for his health, as this is not just a routine appointment, asks if there's any way they can fit him in sooner. The woman on the phone said and I quote "well sometimes things happen in life". That comment is extremely rude and unprofessional to say to someone. I personally work as a customer service representative and I would NEVER say that to someone. And if i did, there would be repercussions. If he remembered her name, I would gladly put it on here. The lack of empathy is disgraceful. Even though him seeing a pain specialist is extremely urgent, we will be finding another facility to provide him care.”
