Patient Testimonials

I can't say enough wonderful things about this Practice. Lindsey Smith PA Kathy and Crystal are angels. They treat you like human beings. Even my kids adore them! I have been going there for years and went in there for the first time completely broken, after horrible horrible experiences from previous pain doctors offices and they have restored my faith in What having a good team of professionals behind me should look like. I know they have my back. ( haha literally! ) no matter what. For me and my family that is a huge deal. They are professional, empathetic and on the ball. I can't say enough wonderful things about Lindsey Smith PA. She is incredibly knowledgeable and empathetic and will work until she gets you feeling better. If you are someone that lives in pain. You know that there is about nothing better than that. Worth the Drive From Wilmington!

Been Going For Over 3 years. At first I really liked it there but gradually I noticed they were becoming less concerned with my needs and more with what "They" wanted to give me or do. To the point that when I would mention a new symptom or experience a new pain to the nurse, the doctor that would come in after would totally ignore it. That happened several times. Then after being on the same medication for over a year and telling my doctor for months that it was no longer working, that was also ignored and kept giving me the exact same thing. I was recently terminated due to 1 and I mean 1 missing pill. Never failed a drug test, no excessive missed appointments and any appointment that I did miss was immediately re scheduled and I email the doctor every time to explain. However I was informed they were no longer comfortable helping me and referred me to an addiction center. Addiction center really? For someone in chronic, well documented medical pain, due to 1 missing pill!! If these "pain" doctors could live the life of an actual pain Management patient and be in chronic pain themselves instead of what they read out of a textbook, I think they would be much more empathetic and act a lot less accusatory in the way they handle their patients.

I have been seen at Johnston Pain Management for more than twenty years. Dr. Johnston and the entire staff have always displayed caring and compassion in all their efforts to make my pain manageable while trying to continue my active lifestyle. I would highly recommend Johnston Pain Management to all those who are suffering from pain. However, you must realize while your pain may be reduced, it may never be totally gone. Making the pain more bearable is a number one goal. Don't expect a miracle, but often I have found, it really does feel like one!!

I'm only speaking from my experience. Staff was friendly and kind. But, After my epidural steroid shot my body has experienced full body tremors initiating cramps (mostly at night and very scary) that affected my sleep and made me stiff for long periods of time. I received my shot July 19th and two weeks later my lower legs started with pins and needles and buzzing and it manifested into the full body tremors. Still have not gone away and the past couple weeks my quality of life went down hill. Along with dizziness and headache. Been to the ER 4 times and two doctor visits. Unfortunately this may be a long journey to figure this out because with the nerves and spine, it's a lot. But when I went for my follow up the doc said it's a rare occurance and was ready to start a second appointment for another shot. I wasn't feeling that at all especially with my symptoms. Why would I want to do another shot when I'm in this much pain or terrified from shaking from the inside. It seems to be worse when my body relaxes into sleep. My back didn't really get much better. Believe that there can be long term affects from epidural shots. Just think it through. I'm still not sure if this is a side affect, but that shot is the only significant thing and I never had this before hand. If I could take it back I would have not done it.
