“My husband was referred by 2 doctors to see Dr. Jake Trahan and the doctor will not take him on as a new patient. Why? They won't give us an explanation. My husband has suffered from Peripheral Neuropathy for 22 years and it has progressively gotten worse. All the doctors that have seen him over the years said there was nothing they could do for him, so he was given opioids to take. Our doctor that was managing my husband's pain all these years retired in Dec. 2023 and we were left with a list of doctors to call. Either the doctors are not taking new patients, or they don't prescribe pain medicines. We were not told that Dr. Trahan is not taking new patients. We were told that he would NOT see my husband as a patient. This is a PAIN MANAGEMENT FACILITY. Please explain to me how this doctor can so easily turn us away without even letting us have an appointment?? I watch my husband writhe in pain everyday, to the point he just wishes he was dead. It's a shame that a person in this much pain cannot get an appointment at a PAIN MANAGEMENT FACILITY. The medical system has failed us terribly.”
