Originally from California, Dr. Jacob Vella is an interventional pain management physician who is uniquely double board certified in pain management by both the American Board of Anesthesiology and of Pain Medicine. Before moving to Auburn, he was the managing partner of the largest pain practice in New York State. He specializes in minimally invasive non-surgical options for painful and complex disorders of the spine. He was chosen early in his career as one of 20 emerging physician leaders in pain medicine. His active engagement in medical research and development has been published in peer related journals and his contributions have worked to advance the specialty of pain medicine. Most specifically in the division of neuromodulation.

“I had a spinal fusion back in May 2021. We had to change to Dr. Vella due to insurance reasons. They do a great job of getting you in on the Dr. side. Usually 15 mins or less in my experience. On the treatment side is usually 10 mins or less. Wait times are short at the Montgomery and Prattville office in my experience. One minor issue with billing but it was handled quickly. Not even worth taking a star away because things happen. The staff is nice and easy to get along with. Dr. Vella is down to earth and easy to talk with. The NP's who take care of patients will actually sit down and listen.”
