Do NOT go to this pain clinic. It takes months just to get an initial appointment and months after that to actually have any type of procedure done. The doctor will meet with you for all of 10 seconds and you will not be treated like a human being. The nurses were the only kind people I interacted with in the office, front desk staff is incredibly rude. I had a horrible reaction to the injection I was given and when I called in asking to be seen by the doctor who gave me the injection (this was in may) they told me I could see him at my follow up appointment in August! When I pressed that I am swelling up and feel like this should be addressed right away they told me to go to the ER or my GP and reminded me that "this is an elective procedure" basically "not our problem you chose to do this figure it out on your own". When I asked if I could at least talk to the doctor on the phone the receptionist would only relay my information to the doctor and would not let me talk to him directly and the response was still the same, go to the ER or your GP not our problem. Luckily my GP actually cares about me and was able to see me right away and provide the steroids needed to resolve the immense swelling. My right shoulder was so swollen it was over an inch higher than my left shoulder. This is only a small summary of the nightmare that was my experience with the UVM pain clinic, I will absolutely never be going back to this place. There are other clinics in the area that will actually listen to you, treat you with kindness and respect and perform the procedures discussed, go literally anywhere but the UVM pain clinic.

My first appointment was awesome, I was very early and they got me in and out before my actual appointment. Dr Casandra Mysior is awesome, her staff is awesome, professional and caring. I had a nerve block done and it was basically painless. The quality of care and service here is well above board. I was seeing a pain clinic here in Plattsburgh but had to go to Vermont to get proper care, and I'm telling you that I am glad I did. Don't wait for problems to get bad, transfer all of your pain needs to UVM pain management immediately. You will enjoy your appointments a lot more if you see the Drs at Tilley Drive, Burlington.

Dr Zhu made the process more confusing, raising her voice when I struggled to answer her questions (I am autistic and it's noted in my chart) and she misgendered me calling me ma'am (even tho it is noted on my chart I am transgender). I don't think she read anything in my chart except notes from a psych stay when I was suicidal during my Ehlers Danlos diagnosis odyssey because no one believed me. In her notes she wrote she checked the range of motion but didn't say of what, and she didn't check range of motion of anything. She touched me lightly on the back of my neck for 12 seconds and called that an exam and in the notes wrote she had a difficult time getting me to explain my pain. I switched to another provider at that place but I'm not holding my breath . Dr Zhu forgot the compassion part of medicine I guess. She just seemed angry and annoyed to be at work and too impatient for an anxious autistic patient to explain their issue.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this practice! My father is in terrible pain from peripheral neuropathy and was told 1 year ago that a spinal cord stimulator might really help him. We agreed and it has been a nightmare for a year just trying to get them to put in the trial. Absolutely unbelievable how uncaring this practice is about a patient's chronic pain. There is absolutely no sense of responsibility or urgency to manage my father's pain. To string an old man along for a year, promising him that he will get a spinal cord stimulator trial and then to cancel twice on him, is awful. Not only did they cancel, but they cancelled both times very close to the appointment. In fact, they confirmed 2 days prior and then cancelled the day before. The reason they gave was unacceptable. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Very sad. I am giving one star because I cannot give zero stars to post this comment.
