Patient Reviews

Patient Testimonials

I saw them a few days ago, I got an epidural steroid injection for chronic pain. I feel 1000x better today and can't say anything but great things about them. They were flexible with my schedule and did a great job getting me scheduled ASAP. As for the other reviews... you DO NEED a referral for all specialty doctors and you will have to bird dog (call frequently) all providers, jump thru the hoops and have some patience to get into any specialist. Thanks!

I would like to separate getting an appointment as a new patient, versus quality of care. With many events dealing with my low back spine, and neck spine, over close to 30 years. Including surgery 25 years ago, low back and 20 years ago neck, both herniated discs, that have done well. Now working through arthritis, I so appreciate their help. Care, clarity of options, safety, pleasant, follow up, just good service. I trust my spine to the team.

This is a one star Post. I wondered why I was constantly being "put off" here. I have lumbar & cervical herniated discs. Everytime I visited I saw someone different. I explained the epidurals on my back did not work, and the next suggestion was to come in a couple more times to do movement evals to locate the pain. That was ridiculous to me, and after looking further I discovered this is what they call a teaching clinic. Hence why you never see the same doctor.

I will start by saying I have never even visited with a doctor at the Virginia Mason Anesthesiology Pain Clinic or been there, and have only struggles with the initial steps. I stumbled upon the Virginia Mason Anesthesiology Pain Clinic in my quest to get control over my chronic pain, manage it better and live a more normal life. I reviewed the services and doctors thinking I had found something really good, feeling hopeful. First I tried to schedule an appointment with them on MyVirginiaMason. Then, when I discovered this was not possible (weird and inconvenient, why), I called them to try and schedule an appointment that way. I was sent to a voicemail. I left my information thinking i'd get a call back in the next day or so as is customary. I have never received a call back. I realize this is probably a busy place, maybe there is even a waitlist. I respect that. But please, at the bare minimum I deserve a call back to tell me that I need a referral or there is a 6 month wait or none of the doctors are accepting new patients. Anything. Perhaps there are other clinics in the area that are more sensitive to the needs of us as chronic pain patients and will respond to these with more respect and urgency.
