Patient Testimonials

Dr. David Baker, his wife & office manager Melissa Baker and their staff have been the best thing that has happened to me after an accident led to a spinal fusion. I'd seen a number of other spine specialists, all of whom were kind and well respected, prior to moving back to Augusta. While all of them genuinely tried their best to relieve my pain, none of them were able to relieve my pain like Dr. Baker has done. Dr. Baker truly listens to me and acts like time is not an issue. I never feel rushed. At the same time I truly can't remember ever having the hour plus waits I've had everywhere else. He tells me what to expect from every procedure and medication & will patiently answer every question. Their office is gorgeous. Now I agree decor may not be the top thing to look for in a pain management practice, but their homey office decor is void of sterile walls and broiler plate exam rooms. Instead there are comforting colors, seasonal pillows, candles and hand soap. Photos of horses, UGA art and antique tables are reminders that this isn't a big box cattle call doctor's office. The atmosphere does a lot to help you relax, feel comfortable and ease anxiety. The office manager, Melissa Baker, is always quick to step in and help make sure patient experience is smooth, start to finish. She or a member of her staff is there to greet you with a smile, schedule procedures or answer calls. Phone messages are returned promptly. I rarely have to even request a medication refill because 99% of the time refills are already sent to my pharmacy on schedule. If I do need to request a refill for something I don't take regularly responses are usually ridiculously fast. I would be remiss if I completed a review without mentioning their friendly anxiety relieving dog Teddy (and friends). The dogs are calm, gentle and sweet. They will sit to be petted if you like. As an animal lover I find having dogs at the doctor's office to be a huge plus. While under Dr. Baker's care I have been able to increase participation in activities of daily living. He has helped me adjust to my new normal and listened patiently when I still sometimes tear up about missing my job or riding horses or being able to decorate for Christmas like I used to. Even as I have aged over ten years since I became a patient I have only decreased the quantity of medication needed. I always say that if the Baker's move to Alaska then I'm going to move to Alaska too. Dr. Baker has helped me make the most out of the things I can still do, and do them in less pain.

Dr. Baker and his staff are amazing. After multiple failed back surgeries I finally found someone willing to try and help my chronic pain. Love Teddy, the therapy dog and his visits. It's amazing how he can brighten your worst day. So thankful I started going to Dr. Baker years ago.

I found Dr. Baker in 2013. I have had chronic back pain since I was in my early 20's due to an injury. After years of just barely getting by on various treatments from different Physicians, Dr. Baker got me feeling 100% better in just a few weeks. I highly recommend this man and his wonderful staff!
