Hawaii Institute for Pain / HI Pain East Oahu

Our Mission at HI Pain is to give chronic pain sufferers the best possible outcome while providing them with the best possible experience. Our Philosophy at HI Pain is to treat chronic pain using a multi-disciplinary approach, combining minimally invasive, state-of-the-art techniques with good, old-fashioned individualized care. We do NOT believe in using opioid medications (a.k.a. narcotics) or other addictive medications to treat chronic, non-cancer pain as these substances work only very transiently by masking the pain and do more harm than good in the long run. We believe in finding the root cause of the pain and focusing our minimally invasive treatments such as injections and nerve blocks on these so-called "pain generators."

Patient Testimonials

Just finished my first procedure at Hawaii Institute For Pain. I have been receiving treatments for low back pain since 2017 and have never been as impressed or received the type of care that Hawaii Institute For Pain provides. A huge thank you to Doctor Jin, Yuna, Lauren, Celine and the rest of the staff. Each step of the process to reduce or eliminate your pain is explained to help you understand. The facility is immaculate and very comfortable. I am genuinely grateful and impressed with the entire process and team. Sincerely Dan and Dar Sparks

Office is very attractive and clean . Staff is very professional and friendly ! Dr. Wang really took his time explaining my spinal cord stimulator surgery procedure and how it can help alleviate my chronic pain . His confidence shines through ! He explains the different types of spinal cord stimulator brands available and how different ones worked differently for each individual. That was very informative ! . I feel quite comfortable in his care, and look forward to getting my trial implantation scheduled soon ! Very grateful ! Keri Hayes

Short staffed but lady at front desk was nice. Parking garage is super close so that's convenient and parking's validated from docs office (Free first hour) but $1 every 30 min. This was my first spinal injection ever. The doctor came in and literally just said hello, asked how I was and started to work on my neck.. I didn't think about this til after, but I should've gotten a verbal explanation of the sites (spinal areas), maybe confirming those were the correct areas he's injecting, or informed me the name of the medicine ect. He just injected the meds and dipped out without any after care instructions or how long I should wait. He just said "careful when getting off the table since u may be dizzy". I felt like the docs should put a little more care and especially for new patients.

I just had my second set of injections from Dr. Young. Let me use the word "precision." His precision with the injections is amazing. I felt relief to the nerves literally as the medication was being delivered. His staff is always on point to address any of my issues, questions, or concerns I just wish all of my fellow disabled veterans could get the amazing care that is available here. Through a naturally medicinal/ non-opiate based pain medication regimen, combined with injections, I'm able to combat pain. The injections and guidance from Dr. Young have me on the road to feeling the wellness and daily improvements in my life Special thanks to Dr. Young & his staff Rich Tucker Disabled Veteran Native American 329islandtours.com
