“Just recently went to my second visit at this specific pain clinic. I have been to two different pain clinics in the past and have had injections by two different doctors, however, my neck and back pains have come back and I have been referred by my primary care physician to see a pain specialist doctor for my pinched nerve (lower back) and herniated disc (neck). Dr. Polk may be a great doctor and all, but I did not get that experience from him. I have a serious issue with this office drug testing me and the other patients in order to dictate whether they want to give them certain medications or not. The other two offices that I went to for injections (Morrow & Buckhead) and pain did not do that. Dr. Polk spent most of my two visits over talking me, not listening to me when I was trying to explain to him what my symptoms were, how I was feeling, and what was going on with me physically. I'm going to say that I was very annoyed after the first visit and he continue to do the same thing with the second visit, (over talking, cutting me off mid sentence, and not letting me speak at all.) I tried to show him that my ankles were swollen and he said "where", as if I was exaggerating about my symptoms. I'm not sure where all of the good reviews are coming from, but I am being totally honest about my experience with this office and Dr. Polk. It seems as if the office and it's management wants to get in as many patients as they can and rush them in and out for the office's benefit. I can't believe that they're actually drug testing their patients like that. He came back into the office notifying me of how I had marijuana in my system. I know that! It's in my record that I have an "cannabis dependency" and all of my doctors know! He/they could've just asked me and I would've been totally honest like I am with all of my doctors. He then begins to give advice on how I should get a Marijuana card. I have had more than enough physical injuries that required specialists, but I have never been handled, judged, nor treated in this manner at all. I will be discontinuing my appointments here at this location and will be finding another place to obtain the proper care and healing that I so desperately need. After those two visits, my pain and symptoms are basically still the same as it was when I first attended the first appointment. I feel that it was a complete waste of time becoming a patient at this pain clinic. The front desk workers and nurses/staff are beautiful and wonderfully supportive and kind. I am very appalled and disappointed that I had to waste my precious time with giving this facility a chance. I will find another pain specialist that will satisfy my need to gain back mobility of my body and not worried about if I test positive for any "drugs". Two appointments a month apart and no physical therapy or anything and I can barely get out of my bed or walk without the pain and feeling of literally walking on pins & needles and complete numbness on my entire right side. Think wisely before becoming a patient under Dr. Polk's care.”
