Patient Testimonials

Prior to becoming a patient, I was repeatedly "handed off" to every doctor under the sun. I'd arrive at yet another appointment, and leave with no answers. Even though my back pain was horrible, I stopped trying to find help. It was obvious that most doctors weren't invested in finding the cause of my back pain. Meanwhile, I suffered. I couldn't spend quality time with my family. I couldn't care for my home. Every day started and ended in pain. My whole family suffered, wanting to help, not knowing what to do. A friend who was already a patient of Dr. Sharma's encouraged me to make an appointment. I was reluctant and didn't expect any good to come of it. I dreaded the thought of yet another appointment with yet another doctor who just wasn't interested in helping me. I am glad to say that my assumption was completely wrong when I had my visit at Freedom Spine and Pain Center. Dr. Sharma and ALL staff greeted me with warmth, respect, and professionalism. I finally felt like I was heard. During each visit, Dr Sharma took time to answer my questions and address concerns. Whether I've required a procedure or follow up visit, I felt completely comfortable with trusting Dr Sharma and ALL staff. It took some time, but the cause of my back pain was found, and I recently had a successful surgery. I'm recovering and incredibly grateful that Dr Sharma and the professionals at Freedom Spine and Pain never gave up on me. My family is grateful. I'm getting back to being myself. I can't wait to do all the things I've missed. I'm so excited for my new, pain-free adventures that it's hard to sleep! I just can't thank these people enough. They literally helped me reclaim the parts of my life that I'd given up on! Also - I'm going to call an employee meeting for Freedom Spine and Pain, and inform them that nobody is allowed to retire. Ever. The care I've received at Freedom Spine and Pain is nothing short of amazing. I can't recommend, or thank, them enough!!

Doctor is friendly but he does not really try to fix the issue. This is a cookie cutter medicine clinic. If you present a unique or complex case such as I did, involving multiple issues in and around the spine, he is not your guy. He is a "read the MRI report and repeat with the radiologist wrote in the same" kind of guy. His solution is medication or injections and if that does not work you will be referred to surgery with no explanation of why except "you will have to discuss that with the surgeon when you see them." The nursing staff is great but his front office staff is trash. Never been treated the way I was at this office. Front office and reception is deplorable. Not returning calls, rude, short, and failing to send referrals to imaging offices or other doctors offices. I had to threaten to show up in the office and physically take the referral for them to finally get the orders sent to the MRI center. And according to them the doctor also refuses to communicate over the phone and "needs to talk to you in the office." I'm sure he does, so he can charge you that copay. Also had to do an EMG test (which is very uncomfortable) to have him say absolutely nothing to me about the significance of doing it or what it showed him after being conducted. You will go through a series of consults before any action is taken for him to "read" the imagery and in reality all he did was repeat with the MRI report stated. From what I experienced, we worked up to the epidural injection after three visits and me having to basically beg the staff to see me before my next appointment which was over a month out... Ask yourself if it is ok for a doctor to tell you to bear the pain of having your arm crushed in a vice and burned with hot oil constantly for over a month? I think most people would say this is unrealistic. There is no empathy form anyone in his office. So now to the epidural. it was 100% ineffective but was told that because the pain was modified it was a "partial success." The success was that the pain moved from my inner arm solidly to my forearm and hand, while still completely presenting in my neck and shoulder. I was under the impression that medically this was actually considered a regression and not a success because the pain migrated further down the extremity. I actually had an emergency (post injection) and was able to get an appointment with about a 12 out of 10 on the pain scale which I was grateful for. When I got to the office after driving more than an hour, saw him and he basically said sorry about your bad luck, I tried, lets get you to a surgeon. I told him the injection seemed to actually make things worse and he continued to argue that is was a success. Completely taken aback. After arguing this with him he then reverts to the fact that the MRI report says minor tearing of the RTC and presenting arthritis. All of which was already refuted by him as NOT being a factor, now suddenly was but this was essentially not in his wheelhouse to address. Like I said, cookie cutter medicine. He is not a problem solver. Also used the line "art of practicing medicine" with me to try and explain the failure of the process after he said it was a "partial success." If you just need an epidural and can wait he might be your guy. but any complex issues or compound issues, you need to find another doctor.

I am a disabled veteran who had seen Dr Sharma for several years. The staff had a lapse in communication between patient and provider on a continuous basis. They not only receive Federal Funding for veteran patients but also Subsidized Funding from Medicare. When I on several occasions asked if they were able to work on better communication the current Office Manager told me that they will not longer see me as a patient. Completely unprofessional.

Dr Sharma was very clear in his explanation and understood both the symptoms and the need. We trust his recommendations.
