“As a new patient, my first visit left a lot to be desired. I arrived prepared, MRI disc in hand, but felt like just another checkbox on an endless list of forms and processes. After lengthy questionnaires, I was met with the all-too-familiar "go here, go there, we'll be right with you" routine. When I finally saw a PA, it felt more like a sales pitch than a genuine consultation--almost as though I needed to convince them my condition deserved real attention. The "triage" was painfully impersonal, like a fill-in-the-blank script that could have been handled in an email. My MRI? Pointless, since they "didn't have the equipment" to read it--read: no radiologist on staff. In the end, I walked out with no treatment plan, no genuine understanding, and an appointment in two weeks. It's clear they have a rigid approach: when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. For a pain clinic, empathy and flexibility seem sorely lacking. Update: received a very unprofessional phone call from the doctor, after this review went up. (2hr after the appointment) He called stating he heard I had some "questions," then used that time to clear up my expectations of being pain free and how my understanding about living life in chronic pain is flawed. I've never been reprimanded by a doctor, I've never met, over the phone, for such a thing. He casually offered me two things... my right to go to another clinic, knowing the complications involved with the VA Community Care referral system or I could just keep my follow up as scheduled, if I want. So.... Expect any and all frustrations to be held against you, here. Or have your case management being used as a tool of control instead of continuity.”

It's been almost 2 years now and this has been a long process and I have no regrets on choosing Dr. Reeves..
