Dr. Zachary C. Cohen - Pain Management in Chula Vista, California

“I'd like to start this post with the statement that I have found no actual fault with Dr Cohen himself. I have however been to two of his four offices (La Mesa and Chula Vista). I found both offices to be far less than stellar. They have mixed up appointments, not contacted outside agencies that needed to be present at my appointment, not had the appropriate bandaging material (even though the appointment was changed to a different office to make sure that bandaging was available). There is a big poster size sign in the Chula Vista office stating how good they are as they return 45% of their calls! Funnily enoughI my other doctors return 100% of their calls. I have been trying to reach them since March 25th as they called my prescription into the wrong pharmacy. They do this almost every month. Although I have repeatedly given them the correct pharmacy number and explained this prescription cannot be transferred, they continued to blow it off. There is no way they have not received at least one of my texts and phone calls. You see, except for the new patient line, humans don't answer the phone. One of my home health aides has tried to call them. Again, to no avail. I had an operation at their EPC surgery center. They did not require my pants or shoes to be removed. I advised them I have cats. It didn't matter. How many times have you been in an operating room where they were actually cutting on you where they did not require you to remove all but your underwear to ensure a sterile area? They have the absolute worst call center I have ever come across. I cannot in any good conscience recommend this office!”

“From the time I arrived at California Pain known as Sage Pain and Wellness was busy and I do mean busy. I thought I was going to be there all day. I had an 8:20 appointment was amazed at the process of them getting patients in and out in a timely fashion. Short staffed they were not! He recommended several options to get to the root of my back pain along with my sciatic nerve pain. I must say driving from Chula Vista during early morning rush hour to La Mesa was very much worth the visit of being taking care of not only by Dr. Cohen but his wonderful staff. I've had 2 hip replacements done, which I had after care treatment for that. I suffer from excruciating back pain as well as sciatica. They've treated me well always refilling my pain medication on time. The clinic is very clean. The staff make you feel welcome and comfortable.
