“I went to Dr. Spear when he was with another practice for pain management. I received multiple trigger point injections in my neck and shoulders over several years.. Great relief. I also received a number of guided sciatic injections, which helped immensely. Of course opioid use for pain was not taboo, then so my pain management for migraines, chronic back, sciatica, and neck and shoulder pain were very well managed. I only left the practice because of loss of insurance and then a move to Florida. I do plan on returning to him now that I am back in Virginia Beach.”

“I went in for a SI Injection and immediately the pain hit me when I tried to sit up. Blood pressure dropped and he had to put a wet rag on my face and neck. Said it was the numbing medicine is why I reacted this way. I had to sit for 10 minutes and he told me to walk like a Pirate. That weekend I ended up in the ER because the pain was unbearable and I could barely walk. Its 10 days later and the pain is still horrible! I cant get in with a Neuro Surgeon until the 29th. I'm sure its NERVE DAMAGED because I took Gabapentin that I had on hand and it and it seemed it took the edge off the pain. This place is a shot clinic and the only thing he had to go off of was a X-Ray. Never took any precaution with inserting the needles. The MRI from the ER showed I had a underlying severe spine issue! Don't you think he should of required testing prior to the injection or at least taken precaution with fluoroscopy or ultrasound to guide him safely through the Injection.”

“Warning! Do not go to this place unless you want to be dropped like a hot potato. After going to this place for at least 4 years, I was sent to Abby Barney to get injections in both my shoulders due to torn rotator cuffs. Prior to that, I had seen Bonnie n o c k. I never saw Robert spears. Lisa in the front desk always real sweet to me a month ago I went to Abby Barney and she gave me an injection in my left shoulder, and I was to come back in a few weeks for the injection in my right shoulder, which is worse. When I called to make the appointment for the injection in my right shoulder, Lisa told me I could not come back there. I asked her why that was, you have missed three appointments with us since you started coming 6 years ago I couldn't believe what she was saying I asked her could she give me the dates of the appointments that I had missed and she refuse to do that, and she hung up on me I then call back nicely and asked her to give me the dates again, and she got very very rude and told me not to call again. I told her that I was supposed to come back for my right shoulder and that the was excruciating but she did not care it all, tell me not to call again, and she hung up I waited a few minutes and I called again to ask her what had I done wrong. She told me nothing, but I had already been discharged she said. I told her that I needed an injection in my right shoulder as I was in extreme pain and could hardly use my arm period ask her if I could speak to Abby Barney or to Robert Spears and she said no I could not and slam the phone down on me. I was in tears and I am still in excruciating pain and I do not know what to do to do that was very cruel, heartless, and uncaring way to treat a patient like me chronic pain and I have very bad arthritis since Abby Barney had all my MRIs and the ones of my shoulders, she knew where to inject her concoction into my shoulders she had done it three or four times in the past, so I don't know why this Lisa was so rude and yelled at me that I missed three appointments and would not tell me when. I told Lisa that I had covid-19 and that I was in the hospital the first time for 6 weeks and I called and canceled it, then I got it again after Thanksgiving and was hospitalized for 2 weeks and I see you, CU unit do not call when you are in there. I explained all that to her and she could care less. She still would not tell me the dates you did was yell at me and say you have been discharged to talk to who was in charge she would not let me. Prior to that I told her pay money that I if I owe something I would pay it, anything. Even though I don't know why she did this to me she had me in tears by then my pain flew up my blood pressure went up I had to call my cardiologist at CVA he said that he would try to call the head of the company which would be Dr Speer I think and tell him directly that the chronic pain I have makes my blood pressure go very very high and I could have a stroke is am I'm not on any pain meds and now they were refusing me a shot. He told me to call or notify you to send me all records from beginning to end and why you discharged me and whatDates dates did I miss. “Using my husbands account to post. Dr. Spears is a really nice doctor and human being, but I will make it clear that he does not do anything with meds - so if you're looking for help there, go to another practice. It's all alternative treatments. I received trigger point injections from a physicians assistant. Time will tell if they help. - Amy”
