Patient Testimonials

Dr. Tewari gave me a cortisone injection in my back. Didn't work. Had me do 12 sessions of physical therapy. That didn't work either, but he told me that it was just a formality to have an ablation procedure done. Insurance denied it, but wanted him to do a peer to peer chat to determine if it was medically necessary. I had to call a week later to inquire how it went. The next day they called me back and his nurse said he refused to do the peer to peer because insurance had already denied it. I am appalled that a medical professional (if you can call him that) wouldn't do the steps necessary to get my insurance to approve the procedure. I have now wasted 3-4 months under his care only to now have start the process back over. see him at your own risk. i will never use him again.

TL;DR: Dr. Tewari is very kind and seems skilled, but this practice and the IU system it lives behind is criminally disorganized and unresponsive. I was scheduled for epidural steroid injections for extreme lower back pain. It which took weeks to arrange after many phonecalls, and I was given lots of conflicting information as to how to prepare for it. Every person/paper about it had different boilerplate information. The procedure went fine, and I was given a phone number to call if I experienced increased pain so that I could get medications sorted out. I had an extremely sharp downturn a few days later and called the number the nurse had circled on top of my discharge papers. It turns out that number is for the surgery center where the procedure took place, and they have absolutely no way of contacting Dr. Tewari (according to them.) I'll spare you the rest of the saga, but needless to say I'm finding a new pain management doctor ASAP . Even the best doctor in the world is worthless if you can't get a hold of them.

I think Dr Tewari & some of his staff are very unprofessional. He never talked with me before I came in for my first shot for sciatica. The shot he gave me didn't work at all. There was no relief from my pain whatsoever. I called & complained to his appointment nurse Heather (I think) & she was very defensive. She said later that I hung up on her which I may have but she should know that people in pain need some extra care. Anyway I scheduled another appointment with him for another shot. I had to be off naproxen for 15 days, I had to bring a friend with me, I had to put on hospital gown & get two bracelets just for him to tell me that he wanted me to get an MRI before he gave me another shot. "he didn't want to waste my time" he said. I think he did waste my time!!! And then Heather told me that since I was rude to her that Dr Tewari doesn't usually schedule another appointment but that she was working on getting g my MRI approved. No thanks. I'll go elsewhere.

I absolutely love Dr. Tewari & Heather, they are always AMAZING!! I have been going to Dr. Tewari for close to 10 years now & since I'm such a hard stick he ALWAYS starts my IV (he gets it the 1st time every time) so I don't have to get stuck many times!! I would NEVER go anywhere else, my mom even started going to him!
