I have been with Dr. Miller for over 25yrs. Him and Dr. Alleyne Neville saved me from a life of pain. They both are incredible, caring Doctors that I owe my life to.

I have an intethrecal pump implanted in my stomach periodically filled with fentynol. We moved from San Diego to Las Vegas about a year and a half ago. When we did I called ahead to a Pain Management office for an appointment to continue having my pump refilled. When I got there I was informed that they didn't refill pumps which is not what the lady over the phone told me when I set up the appointment. Anyways the Dr at this office informed me that Dr Miller's office was supposed to have made arrangements with the appropriate Dr in Vegas for me to continue having my pump refilled. It has to be refilled about every 2-3 months. I was in a panic because my pump was due to run out in about a week. I called Dr Miller's office and told him what the Dr In Vegas said and after a long period of being on hold they put some obviously very young, low on the totem pole employee on the phone to tell me that Dr Miller said to check myself into the nearest hospital emergency room. They just brushed me off. The wife and I scrambled around and were able to find a Dr here in Vegas that was able to keep filling my pump. Not many of them do this sort of thing so I was lucky to find one in such short notice. Dr Miller's office just tossed me aside when I moved. Obviously it still bothers me because here I am filling out this review a year and a half later. If I didn't find a Dr to fill my pump before it ran out I would have been in withdrawals until they stabilized my pump. Very scary situation. Even scarier is the Dr here in Vegas says my pump is way to high. He says I'm lucky to be alive. He says he's never seen a pump set this high. He's been turning it down 5 percent every time I see him and a year and a half later it's still to high.

Dr. Nathan Miller almost ignored me to death. After an invasive procedure Dr. Miller did on my lower back, a Pseudomonas infection started growing in the same place - almost certainly caused by the procedure. But what's worse, he then ignored the increasing pain for 6 weeks - just prescribing higher and higher doses of Oxycontin. It was only when I went to another doctor did I get an MRI, which showed the infection. The new doctor called me in the middle of the night ordering me to the ER. Doctors at the hospital said I was lucky to have survived Dr. Miller's care. The mortality rate for this kind of infection is 40%, if treated in the first 30 days. Dr. Miller let this go on for at least 45 days. The last time I tried to see Dr. Miller, he personally made an appointment to do an epidural to ease the severe escalating pain. When I got to the office for the appointment, I was told he had gone home for the weekend. That was the end - I sought another doctor, who saved my life by paying attention to my symptoms, ordering an MRI, and following up by sending me to the ER. I advise everyone to avoid Dr. Nathan Miller. He's careless and can be dangerous to your health.

I have a very long history of back problems due to numerous spinal deformities. Dr Miller has been helping me with a Neurostimulator first. That helps me a lot. Later we decided to put in a morphine pump. This is a great tool to reduce pain for those that do not want opioids. I know that sounds odd but the tiny amount of morphine is dripped into the "intrathecal space". (Think Epidural space). Due to the delivery system there is no measurable morphine in my blood but I get a lot of relief because the chemical is nearly injected into the spinal cord. For those of you with chronic pain that do not want pills these two procedures are a good choice. Dr Miller has been my pain MD for 7 years. I do not use pills and he is not a pill pusher. I would rate him a 5 if he was just a bit easier to get to. But given our aging population and the status of medical care I can wait a little for the best.
