What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“Dr.Allen and his team are consummate and knowledgeable in the treatment of pain. Dr. Allen takes a holistic approach to treatments and minimizes the use of opioids and other medication. The staff is always warm and welcoming. As someone who has suffered from chronic pain for over thirty years, and has had my share of inadequate pain treatment, I can fully recommend Dr. Allen and NEW York Pain Medicine.”

“I've been a pain control patient with several different doctors since 2001. While I've been happy enough with all of those doctors, after working with Dr. Allen for the last few months I actually feel like I'm getting something more out of my treatment. He asks questions and those questions have helped me to think differently about how to control my chronic pain (from Crohn's disease and multiple abdominal surgeries). He pays attention, and I don't feel like just another file on his desk. He's even helped me with other pains I've been experiencing for years but never talked about, I assumed they were the price of aging. He put me in touch with Tania, New York Pain Medicine & Physical Therapy's in-house Physical Therapist. Now, those aches and pains are being treated, without the need for more medications, on top of my chronic issues! Tania has been brilliant, I'm walking with less pain these days, and had no idea this was even a possibility. In a short few months I have learned more about how my body mechanics work and how I react to pain medication than I have learned over 20 years in and out of the hospital. Finding a new doctor is difficult and reception for new patients isn't always pleasant. However, Caroline (whom seems to run the whole show behind the scenes) has made that experience not only pleasant, she's kind, welcoming and helpful. I recently met Melesia who is new behind the desk and the same can be said of her. Even if I'm feeling terrible before my appointments I always leave smiling, thanks to the whole team Dr. Allen has built. I only wish it didn't take me 22 years to find this place!”

“I was referred to Dr Allen for severe back pain. I ended up needing disc surgery but I highly recommend him and Allison, his PT. He is knowledgeable and kind. Allison does one on one therapy in a private room. She is great. A small office so perfect during COVID.”

“Dr allen is very caring and kind . Takes his time to explain things as well . I have seen a few drs for pain management and he is the only one who has listened and made me feel comfortable which is important. He has also helped me manage my health and is always there when i have a question which is very rare. I recommended him to some of my own patients because i am a provider as well and everyone has had the same positive experience. He also has a great team for PT ,acupuncture, and front desk.”
