Patient Testimonials

Dr Smith has helped me tremendously with severe degenerative disc treatments, SI joint injections and bilateral fusion, skeletal muscle pain, arthritic pain. I like the fact that he is direct, get's straight to the point. He doesn't waste my time, I try not to waste his time. I respect him and value his unique talents, intellect and straightforward manner. He's polite and often get's down to business quickly. I see so many doctors, that I greatly appreciate the quickness of my routine appointments. (15 minutes or less) Keep in mind it takes time to build trust and effective communication - especially when appointments are kept as brief as practical. It was probably six months before I actually knew that Dr Smith was the right fit for my pain management needs. I was relieved that isn't intimidated by my complex medical history with multiple rare diagnosis. He simply focussed on what he does best: Providing pain relief options while keeping his patients safe from potential pitfalls. It's my job to make sure my other doctors are kept in the loop, then make my pain management decisions based on input from all of them. Dr Smith's is the navigator, his patients are in the driver's seat. He answers any odd questions I ask, addresses any concerns I have. He isn't offended when I question a specific approach or if I decline part or all of his offered treatments. He also keeps an open mind when I have suggestions. Dr Smith has a passion for practicing pain management and it shows. He stays abreast of recent studies, new treatments, changes in practices, etc... He lets's me know when there is a new development that relates to one of my conditions. I have recommended him to my close friends and family. .

I don't typically leave reviews, but I can't in good conscious not leave one. I was recently seen by this provider and left the appointment in quite literally tears. This has never happened to me, and I don't want this to ever happen to anyone else and especially when one is in severe pain. This provider made me feel shamed and made me question advocating for myself. I made it quite clear to this provider that my quality of life has been severely affected, he had physical medical documentation that he went over that showed a bulging disc, arthritis in both the neck and lower back at only 35 years old and this still was not sufficient enough for him to provide me something to manage the pain while I get through physical therapy and other alternative methods to a long term solution in regards to pain. He also made the statement that it sounded like I could have fibromyalgia which most know is painful disorder - as are most auto immune disorders. I'm on the waitlist for every rheumatologist in town. He stated his opinion was "we aren't quite there yet." and I didn't need anything more than ibuprofen. I would think my medical history/documentation would take precedence over his opinion and it's truly alarming this provider is working with pain management patients. The quality of care with this provider was non-existent, caused a flare up with my auto immune disorder due to stress, had to take the following day off work and to top it off I paid for this appointment. I've been through x-rays, CT scans, MRI's to finally get to the point of my PCP referring me somewhere to get help for pain, I finally felt a ray of hope with this appointment coming up but instead left worse off than when I went in. It was a dehumanizing experience in a place where one should feel safe, seen, heard, and taken care of considering this is a doctor's office. This has been upsetting on so many different levels for me and will have lasting impact on me and medical appointments moving forward.

I absolutely lobe Dr. Smith! He gave me hope when other pain specialists told me there was nothing wrong from a car accident! And he truly listens and cares! He will take baby steps and try everything possible. It can take a long time to heal but he was very thorough and trying everything possible before jumping to surgery. He was able to get my pain under control and got me the answers I needed to live a pain free happy life.

DR. Smith is one of the best docs I've ever come across. I have been in this pain for over 12 years. He was kind, respectful, informative, and willing to let ME have a say in my own care! Not just push his own agenda down my throat like other docs do.Highly recommend! Miss him so much!
