What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“The APN Ashley Pennington is the best and kindest medical practitioner I have ever dealt with. She is kind and very empathetic. She is thorough when you need her to be and is very quick when you need her to be. Medical service here is by far the best for pain management. I have only had one negative experience in my time there as a patient which was with one of the people whose job is answering phones and admitting patients.”
— Jordan Morris
“They are rude treats everyone like they junkies sit at the desk and act like they don't see you to busy on their phones”

“I took my dad to Cordova Pain Specialists yesterday and things went amazingly badly. His appointment was at 3:45, but they ask for people to show up 30 minutes before their appointment They, therefore, wanted him there at 3:15. Life got in they way and we arrived at 3:34. They told him that he was four minutes past their cut off time and they wouldn't see him, he would have to reschedule for Monday. He had run out of his medicine that morning and I knew the arthritis and small fracture in his back would cause him to be in terrible pain in a matter of hours. I told them that he needed his medicine refilled and needed to be seen, we were only four minutes past the cut off, and not even officially late for the appointment, but they said rules are rules and if they broke them for an 87 year old man they would have to break them for everyone. I feel it is my job to advocate for my father because he is not very able to do it for himself so I told them that was unacceptable, he needed his prescription. They repeated that they would not see him, one person even came out and at first told me that it was the law, they couldn't see him that day. I told her I knew that was not a law at which point she admitted, it wasn't a law it was just their rule. My father was sitting down and did not hear any of this. I informed them that I was going to sit with my father until they found time to see him. A nurse then came out to be their muscle and told me I had to leave, to which I responded," You're actually going to kick an 87 year old man who needs his medicine out of your office?" He told me he wasn't going to kick him out he was going to kick me out. I then pointed out that that was the same thing as kicking an 87 year old man out because I was not going to leave my father there when I left. This nurse bouncer then told me he would have me forcibly removed. To which I repeated that my father simply needed a prescription and asked if they couldn't just give that to him. It's a narcotic so, no they couldn't, which is understandable. I suggested again that they see him for just a minute so they could write his prescription. No. At this point my dad knows what's going on and is having a panic attack. While he's in this state I remind them that the Hippocratic Oath states that they shall do no harm. They insisted that they were doing no harm even though my father was having a panic attack right in front of them. I then started asking them if they felt good about what they were doing, if they were going to go home feeling good about the job they had done that day. I was saying all this calmly by the way, They then got on the phone to the sheriff's office to have me and my panicking, 87 year old father removed. I had started recording all this, except in my upset state did not actually do what needed to be done to record it so, no video. I had my arm inside the sliding glass so first they tried to close the glass on my arm then had a man grab my arm and push it back so they could close the window. I waited outside for the deputy so I actually could make a video of that. The deputy was wonderful and was sympathetic to an upset daughter trying to take care of her distraught father. He went in to talk to the people in the office to hear what they had to say, then told them that their rules were far to strict and if they had treated his father that way he would have done much worse than I did. Thank you Shelby County Sheriff Deputy for being so wonderful, shame on you Cordova Pain Specialists for being, in my opinion, so awful to an 87 year old man who was in pain and distraught. He felt totally betrayed by people he thought were there to help him. Maybe you think I was wrong or maybe you think I was right to insist, unsuccessfully, that they help my father but I thought it was important enough to make it known how he was treated.”
