Patient Testimonials
“Dr. Purewal and his staff are wonderful! I have been seeing him for lower back pain. Clair, his NP, saw me first and reviewed my symptoms and x-rays. She brought Dr. Purewal in and they both agreed that steroid shots for my back would help. They were very professional and took the time to listen to me about my concerns. We were able to get those shots scheduled in a timely fashion. I was back to feeling better in no time. Thank you to Dr. Purewal and his staff for helping me.”

“I had an appointment with Dr Purewal on 1.23.23. I was told that masks were optional for patients. However, it was mandatory for staff. After meeting with the medical assistant and the NP, a man walked in. He introduced himself as Dr Purewal. Should I believe him??? A man walked in with scrubs on, no lab coat, and no name tag.The scrubs looked like he slept in them. Not very professional. I was most impressed with the fact that he walked in carrying a mask, which he never did put on his face. He asked me where the pain was. I told him head to toe. He said, in your back. The NP began to explain my back problems. The NP and the Dr were talking as if my spine wasn't bone on bone, as described by my spine Dr. Then, Purewal began to discuss steroid injections. I told him that my throat closes from steroids. I had told him about an episode that I had experienced in the hospital. I had received a steroid injection through my iv and shortly after, I couldn't breathe. My throat was closed and I was choking. The nurse had called my Dr and was instructed to put my bed at a 90 degree angle. I sat that way for hours. There was nothing that could be done. I had to wait for the steroids to work their way through my system. Purewal said that was impossible. I had said that all medicines are preservative free??? He said, don't tell me how to do my job. I said that I'm asking. He said that all steroids that are injected into the body are safe and there are no possibilities of side effects. He also said,I must have been nervous when I received the steroids. Which explains my breathing issue. There are plenty of side effects with steroids. Purewal didn't like the fact that I said no to steroid injections. Then, he had said that I was in the wrong place. I said, I guess that I am in the wrong place and grabbed my purse and jacket and walked out. Per internet search: "Hypersensitivity reactions to steroids are divided into two categories. Immediate reactions, such as Anaphylaxis, which occur within an hour of drug administration and Delayed Reactions, such as Contact Dermatitis, which occur after an hour of drug administration." Just because I have a reaction to a medication that Purewal never heard of, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. He wasn't there with me when I had trouble breathing. I know what happened. For all I know, the reaction that I had was a one in a million chance. No physician of any specialty should disregard what a patient reports has happened to them, regarding a medication. I will never return to Purewal for any medical reason. Hopefully, whoever is reading this review, will think long and hard before choosing Purewal.”

“Dr.Purewal was unprofessional and not concerned with patient care at all. The nurses could not find a vein to insert medication and had to hit my fiance's wrist which shows how uneducated his staff is (over a week later his wrist is all bruised up). We scheduled a simple injection for back pain caused by two botched back surgeries in the past from doctors at St. Luke's Hospital. We have gone through chiropractors, acupuncture, physical therapy, medications, cortisone injections, etc...Purewal stated after the procedure when we asked what the next step would be and after speaking with him it was so hard to understand his ENGLISH that he cut us off and said he does not make a lot of money and spending 20-30 mins was all he had time for so we should schedule a follow up appointment. There was NO WAY we were coming back so we had to tell the 2 giggling girls on their phones to please cancel any appointment that was scheduled and they laughed and said "bye". This is not a joke and this dr. and his staff were not at all interested in comprehensive PAIN & SPINE treatment. Save your $ and time. Two days later we went to see our PCP and he laughed at Dr.Purewal and told us to NEVER return to him again. He had an attitude from the moment I read his lips to understand him and was so negative it was depressing. I warn anyone going to the clinic off of S. 20th Street between Oklahoma and Morgan. The only reason for the 1 star was the initial intake reception area had nice ladies working the desk. All the rest of the staff FAILED.”
