“My entire experience with Dr.Stowe and his pain management office has been a joke. I have been dealing with pain for 2 years and after a year of playing guessing games with my PCP she finally gave me a referral to a pain management doctor. I waited a lot longer at my first appointment then I did spending time with anyone there. After quickly going through my issues I was told I would be given a muscle relaxer, a referral to PT and an MRI was going to be ordered. My medication was never filled and no orders or referrals were put through and i had to call the office multiple times to find out what was going on. It took a week to get the medication and a week to get a call to be told " we just submitted your MRI order and your insurance denied it, see you at your follow up" Follow up for what? Needless to say, I went to that appointment. Passed off to Stowes NP, who asked me if I had an mri, no, did I do PT? ALSO NO because no one sent out a referral / told me where i would even be going. They had the nerve to tell me my MRI was denied because I didn't do the PT. Which a letter from my insurance does not list that as the reason. I explained that the medication isn't working either and I'm still taking massive amounts of aspirin which also doesn't help. I explained I feel there is a nerve issue and was told if thats the case there is nothing they can do besides surgery but they will never know unless I have an MRI so keep taking the pills that dont work and oh, do you need a refill on them? I said if you want me to keep taking them yeah, send in a refill.....I still don't have a refill. They told me they were referring me out for PT and this morning I get a call saying the place they sent my referral to doesnt take my insurance and I HAVE TO CALL AROUND to find a place that does and then call their office back for them to send a referral and I'm booked 6 weeks out for another "follow up" appointment with yet ANOTHER doctor ive never seen. To see how the PT has helped for an issue they haven't even diagnosed. This whole experience has been a joke and rather then play the game of being my own medical team to make sure i get medications and appointments booked I'm just looking for a new doctor at this point. Dealing with the constant everyday pain I'm in is less frustrating than dealing with this doctor and this office. Save yourself time and go to someone else that will actually help you. Edit: and after telling me they would send me refills for medication. They never did and when I had the pharmacy try to refill the medication the refill was denied. So basically I'm back to square one and i am looking for another doctor to work with because this office isn't it and i feel bad for those that get referrals here.”

“I am a Steward employee and have been a patient for quite a while. I will say this about Dr. Stowe of St. Anne's Pain Management. There are times when circumstances arise and waiting time maybe a little longer than usual. If a pain management doctor relieves your pain then he or she has done their job. In the case of Dr. Stowe that is just what he does. The staff is courteous and informative. Now that Dr. Stowe will be having his services strictly at the Swansea Mall Drive facility; I hope the same service will continue.”
