What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Rude staff and also a lying staff. Will not respond to voicemails and will say they do. Also impossible to get ahold of the nursing staff! Please do not go here!”
— Nevin Bell
“I only moved here 2 1/2 months ago and I've been on paid medication for 21 years. I was very nervous and worried that due to all of the restrictions and rules relating to pain medication I would have a really hard time finding a doctor that would take on a new patient and listen to me and prescribe only what I need to function daily. I went to Carolina Pain and Weight Loss and saw Dr. Lauren Murphy and what a blessing it was. Dr. Murphy set and listened to me for a good amount of time, asking me very good questions, letting me ask questions while devising a strategy to help me. She didn't make me feel like she had to hurry me out because she had other patients or she already had in mind what she was going to do before she even talked to me, to me these are traits of a very good doctor. Also the staff including the nurse who helps her are absolutely awesome they really are. I wish I could remember the nurses name because she as well as Dr. Murphy have made me feel at home, have really helped me and have been so very kind. I am so very grateful for Dr. Murphy and her nurse and would like to thank both and I would 100% highly recommend Dr. Murphy for your medical care. This truly is a great medical facility.”

“I have been coming here for about two years. The nurse practitioner was wonderful. The owner however, who is also a nurse practitioner (CarolynDavis) doesn't belong in the medical profession. She sees every patient as a revenue stream to pay for her light blue Porsche. Judgemental, absolutely no empathy for the well-being of the people her staff sees, incompetent in the NP field. This was made clear on more than one occasion. Most recently after wasting MY time for 90 mins to misdiagnose my needs and I refused to pay the $25 to correct the previous appointment. Instructed her staff to NOT render care because of it. This is NOT anyone you want to trust with any part of your health. You are simply a revenue stream. Steer clear. I feel for her staff that clearly see what I see on a daily basis. She will be getting a formal complaint with the NC Nursing Board this very afternoon.”

“So originally my experience here was excellent Dr. Amy really seemed to get me and care about my treatment...then even though I never failed a drug test and always complied they "dismissed me" because a pharmacist slandered me... she called her up and told her I was abusing xtampa (a medicine you can't even abuse) and that I told her "but don't tell me dr" like anyone would ever say that. Currently suing that girl and Publix pharmacy over slander and defamation of character ... later found out the pharmacist was sleeping with my now ex and when I yelled at her for flirting with him right in front of me she decided to take revenge and call my dr. And LIED. Well Carolina pain and weight loss took her accusations seriously and dismissed me without even letting me know, hearing my side ... even though my dr admitted her claims didn't make sense since you can't abuse xtampa as it's tamper proof... Then and here's the worst they agreed to take me back as a patient but would only prescribe me Belbuca which I couldn't afford my dr. Started treating me like a drug seeker and told me that everyone has pain and I need to deal with it. Then Even though I was still a patient they refused my multiple calls to set up my next appointment... so my doctor basically abandoned me after promising me care! and also refused to fill my medicine that she had already called in for me! , I recently found out through a better doctor, a specialist is scapuology that I have a serious injury where a fascial tear is causing all the other muscle on my shoulder and back to overcompensate so my shoulder doesn't basically fall off! My great new doc told me my options are: surgery to oversew the tissue and my rhomboids or start micronized stem cell therapy or PRP therapy to try to regrow my scapular fascia...now i have a real diagnosis and treatment to go along with pharmacology (which my doctor says even with these therapies I may need to continue the rest of my life :(....but at Carolina pain and weigh loss after the incident with the lying pharmacist they just started to treated me like a drug seeker (which I am not and never have been) and told me "everyone deals with pain" that I needed to ween of the medication and just deal with pain like everyone else does... Yes you heard that right they told a chronic pain patient that my pain is the same as theirs...I can't believe they showed so little compassion and now that i have a real diagnosis (not provided by them) I am so angry since they ripped me off my meds and showed 0 compassion while I have been suffering deeply. By the way they made me pay all this money for drug tests that my insurance company covers and refused me treatment if I didn't pay and then Next Day... discharge! Horrible horrible place do not go here.”
