Updated review: Dr. Bannister & his nurse practitioner & office staff are great. I have had a couple of issues, but so far they've been worked out. Dr. B doesn't sugar coat things, he is straight with you about how well he thinks things will help, which I appreciate. I have trauma & lost my cool with them recently. I feel bad about it, but hoping it is understandable because it was a $3,000 misunderstanding. I recommend Dr. B - he really listens. I will be getting nerve ablations soon. Had it done once by him and it was the first time I was able to turn my head that far in years! It was a short lived trial, but I am looking forward to additional treatments. It didn't stop my pain but gave me range of motion I hadn't had in years. UPDATED: Okay-hold up-so a couple months ago they gave me a bill dating back to the first appt I had years ago. I had thought they had been billing my card, as they did for every appt copay. I had an appointment last week. They cancelled the day of the appointment. I had it rescheduled for today snd I just got a call saying that they would not see me unless I paid $500 towards my bill. I told them I would be able to pay $100, as I had planned, yet she said no it had to be 500 & now they claim they work with their patients??? How? Now I have to go through withdrawal even though I have a $500 check she is refusing to take. This is their fault. They never let me know I had a balance for over two years and expect me, a disabled woman who was recently assaulted to come up with $500 in a day? Now I will be without my needed pain meds. and a pain Dr. This is all so wrong.... I feel hopeless for a just world. Dr B is great, but telling your patient you will not bill Medicare when you take the medicare card-no medicare pymts shows up on the bill. Yet Medicare was paid. It only showed my primary was billed. PTSD is a hard thing to live with and when done wrong, you lash out, and this manager did me wrong. Now I have to go through withdrawals. I had gotten a check for $500. Tried to set an appt for 3 days and kept getting put on hold, missed a callback. Then she said she refuses any check from me, claiming she works with her patients.... My husband was going to pay it. I have check in my hand since Monday and they will not see me. How can I not lose my mind over this??? HOW IS THIS WORKING WITH YOUR PATIENTS??? Withdrawal is not fun. Shameful... this is what working with your patients looks like? pfft. I love the Dr and nurse practitioners. Billing is the worst of the worst. Because of their lack of giving me a bill for two years, while I thought it had been being paid, taking copayments out of my credit card so I thought they were doing the same with any balance, not listing Medicare as being paid in their billing making it seem they were not, knowing my situation, doing me this way is unacceptable & now I have no pain dr and am completely out of meds. I hate to lose Dr. B. If you have a lot of money, this dr is great. I had only threatened not to pay because I thought Medicare was not billed and she told me I WILL NOT BILL MEDICARE, instead of saying it was already billed, so yes, I said I would not pay due to a mistake because it looked like they were doing something illegal by taking my Medicare card and not billing it & primary telling me they took both, which they do-if Medicare showed up on their billing, if billing said Medicare was billed this is your balance, it would have never have been an issue. When I had called to set another appt., I told her I was afraid they would not see me because of this mistake. Yet set it and cancelled it knowing I would go through withdrawal.... I have a $500 check in hand. "I won't take your check...." This is NOT working with your patients. My husband makes good money. Now I know Medicare WAS billed, no thanks to this billing Penny woman, I was going to pay... but whatever... "work with our patients" You are making me pay physically and emotionally for your mistakes and failures in billing. Shameful....

I have been a patient for a while, of Dr.Bannister and wanted to relate my experience with the office , professional staff and Doctor. I have to say that I have am treated with kindness and respect by both the professionals and all of office staff; always. I have found the Dr listens, and always has the patient's concerns as his top priority. It is rare to find all of these qualities at one office. Thank you to one and all, I don't know how often you hear this but : thank you for ALL of your kindness and care.

Dr. Bannister finally got me an answer on what has been causing my neck pain for the last 3 years. Finally found a doctor that cares. I went to a pain doctor at mount sinai 2 years ago and he diagnosed me so quickly with just myofascial tightness and completely disregarded my persisting pain. Turns out I have had a herniated disc in my cervical spine. Bit more than myofascial tightness. So thankful to have found Dr. Bannister. Really nice guy too.
