Patient Testimonials

Maybe it is better if you aren't honest about depression or other mental health issues, but the doctor seemed to have made up her mind before the follow up. It was determined that my back had no stenosis, and thus, all of my chronic pain was due to the depression. Ignoring details about other chronic pain conditions that have been diagnosed and verified, she recommended that I have ECT to treat the drug resistant depression and that I should stop the very small amount of opiate I am taking intermittently in order to function well enough to make it to appointments at all. She further told me that 3 years of homelessness to leave a very bad situation was "just something one must endure". Even a layman looking at my medical file would know that being homeless in my condition is far more than a "little hardship". After informing me of all of this, and after I told her as well as staff that after the three hour wait my pain medication was wearing off and I was worried I wasn't safe to drive as the pain was too distracting. I was offered Tylenol, but by that point and time, it wouldn't have been enough to help keep my mind on the road. *please note, I was NOT asking for more medication, but imploring them to stop making me wait so long without word because it was causing me anxiety that I may be stuck there, which only makes the pain more intense* Then, sent me away in tears, and now I am fearful that this very small relief I get will be taken away too if because my PC is under pressure to get me off of them. Maybe if not for the mental health problems I would have been taken more seriously, and those who do not have this problem can disregard my review in favor of those who didn't have to deal with the prejudice, but for those of you who are dealing with mental health, particularly if you and your team have stopped medications for whatever reason, you may want to save your copay monies. *in the unlikely event the office is tracking and responding to these, please, do not contact me. I am trying to forget this experience, and hopefully will after I post this review to warn off others who get treated like this too often as it is and deserve a chance to avoid it in the future.
