Patient Testimonials

I've been coming here for just over 6 years, not what I wanted but I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to have to go here. On that note I absolutely must say that they take care of your actual needs. Brian Prize is just that, a prize if you're so lucky to have him. The receptionist is an absolute angel, the nurses are fricken amazing & a few of them are SUPER cute. I couldn't have asked to be put in better hands. Thank you BCFPM, because of you I can walk without crying like a little girl (I'm a 48yo man)

They have changed hands. Now run by NORTHSTAR ANESTHESIA, based in TX. The pieces are now falling into place. Loss of the better PA's (Anita Parker PA)(Dr. Cain Dimon) and other staff. Pray that you don't get assigned to Brian "Booby" Prize. This greenhorn had 8 months exp. when assigned to me, no knowledge of pain mgt. or bedside manner. He took over the morphine weaning process started months earlier by PA Anita Parker. Then he sent me 8/05/2020 for morphine / bupivecaine Intrathecal Pump removal at WBH Royal Oak and I came home with meningitis....INFECTED with PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA by "surgeon" Dr. Larry Manders. He was more concerned about taking photos of my teeth before I came out of anesthesia than my headache, nausea and neck pain. Four days after outpatient surgery I returned to ER after feeling as if I had been hit in the back of my head with a baseball bat. Pain shot across my head ear-to-ear, and down my neck & spine past my shoulder blades. Hurt so badly I did not lock my front door or shut my computer down (which was hacked for $1700 sent to Tran Van Minh in Hue City, Vietnam). I arrived at 10PM Sunday, 8/9/2020. Five hours later I was dumped into a bed at 3:00AM. NO ONE TOLD ME during my 9-day ER hospitalization I had meningitis....INFECTED with PSUEDOMONOS AERUGINOSA. My ins. company says I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. I did not learn of the infection for 13 months when infectious doc posted it to my Beaumont Chart. I went untreated for 4 days before I put my foot down and complained to PA Anita Parker that each morning I get visited by 5 docs doing their rounds, but NO ONE WAS TAKING ON RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY CARE. She turned me on my side and commented she could see my spinal fluid leaking around the staples in my lumbar incision. Oct.13, 2020, came Dr. Shivani Singh, MD who took a culture of my leaking spinal fluid. Within hours I was having a PICC Line installed so they could pump me full of Vancomycin, an anti-biotic so toxic it would eat the tubes of a normal IV. August 2021 I was given a different type of drug test by PA Jolene Koganti. She remembered I had drank three bottles of water and previously spent 4 hours trying to give a urine sample in a bathroom with motion detecting lights. There I was, penis in hand with my plastic cup, IN THE DARK with ASSOCIATES CONSTANTLY POUNDING ON THE DOOR; "ARE YOU OK IN THERE?". The new test was a wad of felt stuck under my tongue. The associate said let me see it. It turned blue-turquoise but she said put it back in. When she took it out again it was in 2 pieces which she put into a plastic tube. Oct.12, 2021 I returned to get the hydromorphone refilled which I had recently been changed to. I had been having digestive trouble for 36 hours. Did not eat or drink from Sunday afternoon until after my Tues. appointment. I was weak, dehydrated, and cranky because the toilet trips did not end until 4:00AM the same day as my 12:30PM appointment. Looking back, I should have cancelled. I did not urinate until 12:30AM, Oct.13,2021. In less than 5 minutes Mr. "BOOBY" Prize said I am discharging you because you failed your last drug test. WHAT? No failures in the previous 8 years as a patient. Despite filling out a request for my medical records I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN EVIDENCE OF A FAILED DRUG TEST. That was a bogus test and he knows it. He knew nothing of the meningitis or PSUEDOMONAS AERUGINOSA compliments of his sending me to WBH Royal Oak. As soon as he said DISCHARGE I told him to eat sh*t. I immediately knew I would be facing terrible withdrawal from the opioids I had been prescribed for over 20 years. Withdrawal lasted over three horrendous weeks. Allegedly, I SLAMMED THE EXAM DOOR OPEN (is that possible?) and he was more than excited to tag me HOSTILE and forever ban me from treatment. He has not seen hostile yet. Don't get the Medtronics Pump if you want to travel for more than 60 days. Also, NO DOCS in USA will refill it. You will be tethered to them as long as you have the pump. Medicare does not cover overseas treatment.

I have regular pain management appointments here and I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff. From my pain management physician to the entire nursing staff, these are health care workers who care about their patients. I've been coming here for over a year now and I've not had one negative experience. Highly recommend!

I have been trying to get a new patient appointment for one month. I have called this office daily at different times; no one ever answers the phone. You will wait on a poor audio quality hold line recording and then be transferred to a voicemail after waiting. I received call back messages while at work and unable to answer, with no information on how to get an appointment. After getting through to a real person for the first time I was abruptly transferred to the medication refill line in error. I left a detailed pleading message asking for someone to please help me get an appointment. I received a call back within the hour to inform me that my referral from one month ago had never been received. I was told "I doubt anything I say will make you happy " I let her know that my happiness is not a concern; I just want an appointment. Although the caller offered to contact my family doctor for the referral, the fact remains that have yet to be offered a new patient appointment, even though she was clearly and admittedly viewing my Beaumont chart and notes from a previous pain doctor. I have never experienced this kind of difficulty in making a doctors appointment in my entire life. It's still unknown whether or not I will ever be offered to make a new patient appointment. The one star rating will remain until I experience improved customer service. I'm a patient, a human being trying to get help from a doctor, not a telephone solicitor. It seems like they are assuming that most callers will be drug seeking addicts and give up after never being able to talk to anyone. This situation is a real shame and needs to be addressed by someone who is responsible and concerned with the way patients are treated.
