What Patients Say
Patient Testimonials
“First and foremost, LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS!!! MANAGE THEIR PAIN. That is quite LITERALLY your ONE & ONLY JOB!!! I waited until I met with a U of M Neurosurgeon on 12/17/25, who finally listened to my extremely concerning symptoms, did a few quick exams right then, and accepted me as his patient, due to my condition dramatically declining from the time I was initially diagnosed on 11/6/25 at Corewell Health/Beaumont Troy, MI. This ONE STAR IS A WARING that goes to SPECIFIC employees at this specific Pain Management Center. 1 phone nurse, 1 receptionist & ultimately the blame starts & ends with 1 NP, all female. On 12/3/25, NP decided "patient abandonment" & breaching HIPPA (yes, I have spoken to legal professionals) were her best personal choices. After refusing to SERIOUSLY listen for more than 10 seconds to my drastically changed voice OR visually taking what she was literally SEEING - as what she dangerously, yet personally, decided was me on STREET DRUGS. Instead she just "needed a minute", due to the fact she (NP) was flat out annoyed because I was trying my hardest to explain/advocate MY NEW (very obvious/serious/potentially dangerous) SYMPTOMS. Which consisted of (also not limited to) uncontrollable twitching of my left shoulder, NECK PAIN, numbness through my arms all the way down to my fingertips, targeting my right (dominant) hand that I couldn't even make a closed fist with, let alone sign my own name or open a bottle with because I was experiencing complete numbness in 3 of my right hand's fingers. Unfortunately I first met NP Jill Ross, I was in the (Corewell/Beaumont, Troy MI) hospital, while being discharged and realizing the pain I was in wouldn't be "manageable" by the medication (yes, specifically an opiate) chosen by HER on 11/7/25. I did speak up & advocate for myself, as she made sure I was alone whenever she spoke to me. Not when my partner, friend, mom or anyone else was in my room. I realized in that moment she would NEVER HELP, just somehow looked eager to "hurt", by sending a patient home in pain. REAL DEBILITATING PAIN. I was admitted (for 6 days) to the hospital, almost immediately, after arriving in the ER for excruciating, unable to stand for more than 2 minutes- low back pain. I ended up being diagnosed with a Failed Spinal Fusion (fused from T3-L4, due to "severe scoliosis", when I was just 14, in 1998) from L3 all the way down the S vertebrae. This was causing more than back pain, as it's your spine & when all separate issues (old Harrington Rods that haven't been surgically used in 15-20yrs, L4/L5 both severely affected by DDD & need removed & replaced with cages, severe spinal stenosis L4-S1, root nerve compression causing pain & issues in my legs, losing some control of my bladder when I'd have a sudden sharp shooting pain spike, etc.) culminate & are TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION, oftentimes lead to the most concerning diagnosis - SPINAL CORD DAMAGE or SCI - with the biggest risks coming from secondary complications like respiratory failure, pneumonia, heart disease, infections, and kidney issues, that (YES) can result in DEATH. Thankfully, I met with a new Pain Management NP & MD, just 2 days later. They were concerned enough with just the change in voice and complete numbness in my right hand's fingers, that they actually took their time to do a simple Hoffman's Response, a couple other quick "tests", and ordered an MRI. BUT NO, couldn't manage my pain with opioids, due to their inability to prescribe them, per that hospital's (which will be named in another review) protocol procedures. That MRI has been dubbed "the literal guide to potentially save your life", because YES my breathing has now been negatively impacted, along with all my other listed symptoms above.”

“This place has just become about making money, since CoreHell took over. Appointments have gone from every 3 months, to every 2 months, no exceptions. They've also raised the price by about 20%, since the death of Beaumont. All for only getting to see a different P.A. every time I go there. It's hard to build a relationship with anyone, when the faces keep changing. And I don't even want to mention the few times that I did have injections. The doctor stabbed me in my nerve, making me jump about 6 inches on the table, The doctor's reaction was to just laugh. Then when I said that we'll see who's laughing when I get off of this table, he screamed for everyone in the place to come and restrain me. I learned a long time ago, that violence isn't a good solution, and would never hit anyone that didn't hit me first. But the doctor's unprofessional attitude was a complete joke. I didn't even receive an apology, except from one of the nurses, as I was walking out. That should have been my last visit, but I hate trying to find a new doctor. Especially, when nobody is taking new patients. I even let another doctor stab me in the back, with the same results, except for the threat of violence, that time. I still got no apology from him, just excuses about how hard it is to do that procedure. I've had injections elsewhere, and they didn't do a thing for me. It seemed like the injection bothered me longer than any good came out of them. That place shipped me after I refused to continue with injections. At this point, I'm ready to just give up taking pain meds, even though I've been on them for close to 30 years, after falling 30 feet, and doing severe damage to my back, and neck. I'm just sick of being part of a production line, where I see a new person that knows nothing about my case, and doesn't have more than my allotted 3-5 minutes, to listen to anything I have to say. I've even had a P.A. walk out on me, telling me that they have patients to see, in the middle of discussing my health. This place has become a complete, and utter joke, as far as taking care of, or even listening to their patients. And don't let me go into the copay I have to pay for my urine test! These people think that their patients just print money for a living.”

“FIND A DIFFERENT FACILITY! On my fifth spinal steroid injection, Dr. Sapeicka and his team missed the spot for the epidural steroid injection. I roared with pain on the table and the response from the doctor was "What do you want me to do about it? I've never had this happen before". I'm not a doctor and had no idea what to say. Needless to say, while no injection is guaranteed to work, they aren't supposed to leave you with more pain than you came in with. The shot utterly failed. Not only did I get no relief, I've had deep spinal bruising, steroid flush and lower back pain from this disastrously botched procedure for more than two months. Despite a visit back to see the nurse and multiple calls with their office manager, there is "nothing they can do about it" and that this is just something that happens and I should schedule another appointment. No way. There are better doctors that won't hurt you. Don't go here.”

“They gave me the wrong medication. I had a consultation with the PA and let her know that I don't handle steroids well at all but I've had kenalog (triamcinoline) in the past and it worked well. I let her know that I had a bad reaction to dep medrol and that I cannot tolerate that medication at all. She said that makes it easy for her and the Dr and she would order a kenalog injection for my back pain. I went for the injection and was not informed what medication I was getting. I was just told it was a corticosteroid injection. I assumed it was the kenalog since that's what I was told at the consult appointment. After the visit I was walking to my car and the pain was getting worse and worse. By the end of the night I could barely sit or stand up or do anything other than lay flat on my back. I began to feel nauseous but have horrible food cravings, developed a bad headache and my scalp and jaw line had broken out in hives. The following day I checked my aftercare sheet to see if it had any info and it said I was given the depo medrol injection. I called the office and they gave me a number to call and complain to but it still doesn't fix the problem. Most of the staff were very kind less the initial nurse I saw before I met with the Dr and nurses in the injection room, but kindness doesn't fix that I was given a medication that I specifically said I cannot handle. Returned for a follow up visit and met with a nurse practitioner who was extremely dismissive of my pain and blew me off, told me all I could do was rest and brace my back.. which is what I have been doing for years. I have exhausted all other treatment options, that's why I'm at a pain clinic. This place is hands down the worst medical experience I've ever had in my life so far.”
